Or a combination Tim Hortons/Wendys! I saw my first one a couple of years ago and wept openly. The guys that picked me up from the airport said that was a perfectly acceptable response for a grown man.

This is from November... Perhaps I'll ask for an update.

DUNKIN' AGAIN: Michael Geller, 33, plans to be the first person to bring Dunkin' Donuts back from about a 10-year absence in the St. Louis market.

Geller, a Manhattan resident who graduated from Washington University Law School, hopes to have the first of the Geller Group's 12 franchises open in the second quarter of 2009.

It is part of a refashioned Dunkin' Donuts plan to open 85 to 95 new stores in the St. Louis area. Geller's is one of two 12-store deals the company has sold so far for St. Louis.

Geller's first will be on a pad next to the Best Western hotel on Kirkwood Road.

The former Wall Street lawyer has grown up with the brand, helping run his mother's 17-year-old business that has nine locations, mostly in Bergen

County, N.J. Five of the nine are combination Dunkin' Donuts-Baskin Robbins stores.

"Today's Dunkin Donuts product is considerably different than the old model," said Geller. "It is geared more toward the p.m. trade as well as

a.m. offerings."

My boss just told me today to go fly up to Canada next week. My first reaction was "man, I haven't had Tim Hortons in six months."

That's great that Dunkin' Donuts is expanding.  I wonder if it has anything to do with Krispy Kreme being in financial trouble.  Krispy Kreme was on the U.S. News list of companies that might not survive 2009.

I remember the news of over 100 locations coming back to St. Louis a year ago. But wasn't there also a similar post about Baskin' Robins coming back too with over 100 locations? Where are those?

Two years ago. But you may have noticed certain economic conditions since then.

Here they come...

Celebrate the Dunkin!

Dunkin Donuts will enter STL once again with over 10 new stores by the first of the year. Two nes stores in Lambert International, 2 freestanding stores - one at I44 and Lindbergh in Kirkwood (under construction) and another in northwest county.

By the end of 2010, Dunkin Donuts will open a total of 100 stores throughout the metro area.

Can we get one of these on the ground floor of the new WU/BJC Biomed21 building?!?!?!?! - only a few thousand MetroLink passengers a day and more than 10K employees within three blocks.

^Word.

I'd love to see any quickly accessibly goods and/or services within 100 feet of any station anywhere. The only ones I can think of are the gas station at Forsyth, Kayak's at Skinker, and maybe the flea market on the Rock Road. (I don't get east ever so I don't know what's going on there.)

Anyway. Dunkin' at CWE, and at 20 or so other stations. I'm okay with that.

How about one of those slots at the bottom of the Brentwood garage behind Best Buy?

There are quite a few Dunkin Donuts shops in CTA stations in Chicago, and I bet they make an outright killing.

Dunkin doesn't have the deep fried fruit pies like World's Fair, though...

Geez, at least when I directly steal another outlet's news item, I at least credit the original source.

Anybody heard where the two DD's will be in the airport? Couldn't find anything on lambert's website.

Curious since Concourse A has had a new Starbucks under construction for a long time, at least in my mind, and I haven't flown out of the concourse in a while. Concourse A and East Terminal seem like the best places at the moment for foot traffic.

There is a DD's going up in Kirkwood at 44 and Lindberg - right across from Chipotle.

They would have to allow food and drink on the trains for this to be successful.
