This station looks much, much better now.  I like the accent lighting that has the ability to change colors too.  That was a nice touch.

It'd be cool if the lights were blue or red depending on which train was next to arrive.

Does the platform have any screens displaying live arrival times?

^ I don’t believe any part of the system has those. Just the clocks that display the next train is arriving in 30 seconds message.

Would be a worthy investment though.

Quincunx…that is a badass idea. Wonder how easy that would be to accomplish.

Yeah, I know I can look it up on my phone so it would be nice if they could just install a couple screens on the platforms and have times listed. Seems they already have the software for it.

Been wanting/asking for that for years. I guess it's just another thing to maintain.

Cortex digital board turned poster/sticker board enters the chat.

Didn’t last 3 months. Still not operational.

I think the big screens are overkill anyway.  I can't imagine it would be that difficult to replace the existing clocks with something like this.

Maybe BJC/WU could partner up with Metro on a small pilot program for the Big Bend, Skinker, Forest Park, CWE, and Cortex stations.  Honestly, Metro should spring for them at Forest Park anyway since it's a transfer station.

Agreed, even the old school DC Metro displays would be great:

Yeah, I was thinking exactly about what Seattles link has. Some of their bud stations do have larger screens (namely on UWs west campus) to list all the bus routes but that’s not needed for our metrolink system.

Each station has its respective schedule posted. Just on a piece of paper and not on a screen. But a screen showing the time until next few arriving trains would be a nice upgrade.

The new entrance looks really good as well. Less wow factor than the new canopy and LEDs, but a good design:

A buddy of mine was hired to shoot the new CWE station. He’s got some good shots:
