Ideally, I'd like to see a higher density development for a prominent corner like this, but the economy still sucks, and the old McMahon showroom would have started to look pretty shabby before too long, so I'm glad CVS chose this spot.

The South County Manager at the new CVS said the STL Metro will see an addition 22 stores open soon... and even downtown. Now I know CVS is downtown in the ATT Center building already, but I guess he is talking about a full size store downtown. I would love to see this as one of the new stores on Washington at Convention (possibly where STL Centre was and the construction on retail is going in.
I would like to see them there and away from Schnucks Culinaria and the pharmacy there.
Or the Ely Walker Lofts would also work.

The CVS Minute Clinic in the AT&T building is closed. The pharmacy is still open.

At the Gravois Avenue/Chippewa Street intersection, the McMahon Ford dealership is already in the process of being demolished. It's a little sad in a way, since McMahon has had a presence on that corner for several decades, and it was one of the few showrooms left in the city that didn't have much of a setback between the street and the front elevation. Now, of course, McMahon has relocated their Ford showroom to the old Pontiac/GMC showroom at South Kingshighway and Fyler Street, which was home to Vincel Pontiac many years ago.

I was surprised to see demolition work, however, when I just found out about CVS through this thread. That sure didn't take very long!

End of the topic.
