Well the Chargers didnt even take 2 hours before pissing all over the new San Diego Plan.....At least Stan isnt doing that here and according to Peacock- Demoff has done NOTHING to harm their effort and has been helpful, same CANNOT be said in San Diego and nothing really can be said in Oakland because there is nothing going on in Oakland.
I like how Policy is not only saying Carson solves the California teams issues, but also says that St. Louis can keep the Rams in that instance. That can only hammer home the fact that all 3 problems are solved at once, versus Inglewood, which only solves the LA problem, while creating a problem in STL. It is great to indirectly have Mr. Policy on our side. If he succeeds, STL and the Task Force succeeds.
Also, even though we'd be getting ahead of ourselves, it might be good to be prepared for Kroenke being forced to stay in St. Louis and not cooperating. He can sign 9 more 1 year leases, then be completely free of the lease. I guess he'd still have to prove the team should be able to move. All he would have to do is put a terrible product on the field and the NFL would have to let him move due to terrible support. I'm not sure where he'd go though. Would he be willing to listen to the Task Force and play ball, regarding a new stadium in STL, if he is forced to stay. Most reports say he will not go rogue. However, is it 'going rogue' if he tries to poison the water in STL. Would it be worth losing money now, to get to a different market later. Would he sell? So many moving parts now, with regards to whether he gets to LA. A ton of questions if he is forced to stay. This is a mess for sure!
^In that instance, I'd assume that Stan has pretty much told the Task Force that he is going to try to get to LA (which is what he is obviously trying to do), but if he fails, he will work with them and get a deal done. This is assuming, reports are true that he will not go rogue.
If forced to stay, I'm sure that process will involve a PR campaign where Stan says he only went through this to get us all a better stadium. He was only exploring his LA options, in the case where the stadium did not get built. I don't see him selling anytime soon, if at all. He will have to repair his image here. If forced to stay, I still see him getting booed anytime he appears in public, assuming he ever does.
He wont go rogue, if he was he would have packed up after last season. If NFL endorses Carson makes no sense to be the 3rd team in LA. If Stan has to stay here i doubt he makes any comment and its probably for the best anyway, at that point fans will be happy that their team is staying and they wont care how Stan feels or has to say.
He will have to be a recluse if he does not speak. I think he will surface at some point. We here in STL like our owners to be outgoing and in the public eye. Hence the reason Shad Kahn would have been perfect here.
Jim Thomas tweeted that Kroenke started off in the meeting today, with a 'what went wrong in STL' explaining that St. Louis (CVC) breached the lease by not meeting the 1st tier requirement, therefore giving him the right to move the team.Shocking!
So every resident of St. Louis is going to be on the hook for an extra 3 or 4 hundred bucks for this one just for the city's portion of RSA bond. That sounds like a financial interest to me. They ought to make it 600 per and up the states portion of the RSA bond 2 times or so and give us something special that Stan can be proud of. But nooooooo...., we'll get some half way approach that will look shiny for a bit and may or may not be useful in 20 years, I just know it.
No, each resident will be on the hook for zero dollars. The city potion is $6M per year for 30 years, same as current tax. For the dome, a hotel tax was passed so visitors would pay this, just as we have to pay for other city stadiums when we visit there. But the city diverted all that money to other uses. Still, The Post, no fan of football, computes the Rams bring $4.2 million per year in tax revenue to the city., or 2/3 of the yearly bill now. Over 30 years that grows to over $8 million per year assuming 2.5% inflation. Total over 30 years is more than $6 million X 30 years = $180 million. You get a free stadium if the Rams stay. If the city doesn't want a free stadium, I have no problem putting it elsewhere in the metro area.
Stan explaining to the NFL what went wrong in St Louis is like the captain of Exon Valdez blaming the wildlife for not absorbing spilled oil fast enough. Ok there must be better analogies. How can Kevin Demoff sit there and listen to that? He told PSL holders the dome upgrade was not the real answer. He said we need to build a new stadium and he personally preferred open air. Sounds like Stan is getting desperate.

This says Rams bring $4.2 Million now. And the bill will be a continuation of the $6 million. Please challenge my numbers if I am wrong. I'm want to know if I missed something.
^^Simply put, both Stan and Demoff are both liars. You can make a list a mile long, of quotes to the STL media and fans, that completely contradict their actions. Now they are likely stabbing our fanbase in the backs, showing empty seats for opening games, MNF games, etc. They are likely showing pics of empty sections and low tickets prices that couldn't even fill the place. I am sure, part of this process for Stan, is to tarnish the image of STL as an NFL city. That is why the St. Louis market 'does not work for the Rams'. In reality, you combine historically terrible winning %, minimal efforts in the community until very recent years, terrible drafts, terrible game day atmosphere, terrible owner that rarely speaks and when he does he lies. His right hand liar, says whatever he has to, to sell tickets that day. You get the poisoned football market you have here. This was a great market until the Rams decisions and lack of production on the field, destroyed the fanbase. In reality, all along, Stan and his gang have been plotting a great escape to LA. I for one, believe that he intended to move the Rams when he took control, but also had LA dreams way before 2010. Him and Shaw may have been scheming from the beginning, hence the top tier clause. Anyhow, it was painful seeing his face, with smiles, giggling, as well as Demoff dodging questions and lying to the people of STL.
Does anyone in this town have the jewels to tell this crap franchise and league to take a hike now ?
The tenants at the Rose Bowl and Angels Stadium don't want them. They would be homeless, which would serve them right. Make it happen. So sick of this. It's time for everyone involved to move on now. Not tomorrow or months from now. NOW.
Fortunately Peacock is going around the country and visiting owners one on one. No Stan there. He can set them straight. Stan is losing and is getting desperate.

I'm not sure where KtheK came up with his numbers, but since the city's portion of the bonds are being paid from general revenue I think it is fair to say that we are indeed on the hook for them. The taxes generated from the economic activity at the stadium however fortunately would mean that it is unlikely we'd take a bath on it and possibly we might come out slightly ahead. Depending upon details, of course.
^^ Stan probably is sending out his minions to meet with owners individually and showing a highlight reel of Ferguson-related riot porn and photoshopping the stadium in the background.
More seriously, I still think the talk about the need for long-term stability -- which Goodell reiterated yesterday -- is a serious landmine and can be used as an "out" by owners to select the Rams if that is what they want.
^ I just hadn't heard any hard numbers from the anti-stadium side. Most of the numbers, mainly positive, have come from stadium-backers. I would like to see a neutral party give true estimates, taking ALL revenues to include conservative estimates. Then we can see if this is truly a good deal. Even though intangibles like recognition, prestige, pride in the city, morale, unity and entertainment are not able to be monetized, that should be put below any figures with an asterisk, as I believe they have significant value to a region. That said, I understand hard numbers are what will be looked at now and 30 years from now when the City is asking for a major renovation.
