That artist has done pretty much all the iconic murals around STL
^Her name is Grace McCammond - Signature Arts.
I wish the Foundry garage did not protrude above grade at all. But since it does, her mural at Tempus is what I wish they had done / will someday do with that whole stretch of Berlin Wall along Forest Park Avenue, albeit perhaps with a bit more color. That much surface area might take her a few years though...

Her work is really good! It would make City Foundry way more Urban and her work is priceless!! You only see that level of street art in Chicago, NYC, and LA.urbanitas wrote:^Her name is Grace McCammond - Signature Arts.

I documented a mural Grace did in an office building Downtown. She was awesome to talk with and hear her stories.

Seems like City Foundry was a fantastic venue for Taste of Black St. Louis.
They must be working around the clock on this store, as the peeps sitting in the job fair tent out front said Fresh Thyme will open in about 6 weeks.urbanitas wrote: ↑Aug 11, 2021Don't you mean Thymeline?kipfilet wrote: ↑Aug 11, 2021So, what's the timeline for the Fresh Thyme? It'll open in November, according to Google, but there's no official opening date yet.
During my brief walk-through a couple weeks ago, they were still roughing-in partitions and doing MEP work, and no equipment had been installed yet. It looks like a few months worth of construction work and equipment installation, plus all the interior furniture/signage/decoration, stocking, training, etc. Thanksgiving would really be pushing it, so my guess is they'll open around mid-December.
From a quick glance inside, it looks like the furniture is all in place, they just need to finish building the counter areas and finishes.
Nothing has changed in the PBS space since the above post.urbanitas wrote: ↑Jul 24, 2021Also peeked into the Punch Bowl Social, and it is a looong way from opening. It is still just raw space with huge trenches cut in the floor slab with dozens of new PVC pipes sticking out of them, and several huge mounds of dirt in the middle of the space.
It's got ~30' high ceilings, a large mezzanine, and almost the entire south wall is the original industrial glass windows, so it will be an amazing space whenever it gets cleaned up and tenant improvements are finished.
$11.3M building permit application submitted for the 60,000 sf office component
Interesting. Would not have expected the office to come before the residential and its podium garage.quincunx wrote: ↑Oct 02, 2021$11.3M building permit application submitted for the 60,000 sf office component
Complete speculation on my part but I think the proposed office building would be ideal fit and location for a certain shoe company wanting to sell its own HQ. Not sure if 60,000 is enough space but work from home and some select co-work space or even an added floor might do the trick.

I’m guessing this is just for the she, $188/sq foot is very low for an office building. Costs are normally $350-600 per sq foot
Brown Shoe isn’t coming any further than Clayton. I recently made some friends there and I’ve heard what is most likely to happen, though I’m not sure I feel comfortable sharing that here. Expect them to stay in Clayton…dredger wrote: ↑Oct 02, 2021Complete speculation on my part but I think the proposed office building would be ideal fit and location for a certain shoe company wanting to sell its own HQ. ^ thanks for the tidbit. Can easily see them moving over to the new class A space going up on Forsyth which I'm sure would keep most of the employees happy with a limited move. But never say never, ss far as my experience you are always being listened too until the C-suite, CEO, COO decides what they want and that is it.
But either way, good news for more space breaking ground at Foundry. Hopefully, see some good news on permits for residential tower forthcoming in the near future as well.

^ Absolutely. Stranger things have happened and I’m definitely not talking to a C-Suite guy. But he has been there over 45 years so I trust him a bit.
I definitely hope he’s wrong but I wouldn’t bet on it. Could still be huge for Clayton though…so keep that mind.

Specific tenant speculation aside, it does make you wonder if they have one lined up. Seems unusual to build office space on spec, especially when residential is already part of the overall plan. Cortex K 3ish blocks away seems to be taking the exact opposite tack, trying to move forward with the residential component while the office is more wait and see.dredger wrote: ↑Oct 02, 2021Complete speculation on my part but I think the proposed office building would be ideal fit and location for a certain shoe company wanting to sell its own HQ. I’ve just assumed Forsyth Pointe for themdredger wrote: ↑Oct 02, 2021^ thanks for the tidbit. City Foundry food hall adds 2 new concepts

Chicken Scratch is a rotisserie chicken concept from Chef Nate Hereford and it will operate for lunch and dinner service. Chef Alexander Henry's Susreste Méxican will feature dishes from Mexico's Yucatán region and will be open for breakfast and lunch with dinner options coming at a later date.
A Fresh Thyme Market grocery store is slated to open this fall, at the same time groundbreaking is expected to start on the anchor tenants of the space, including an Alamo Drafthouse movie theater and restaurants. A second phase of offices and apartments is also slated to break ground this fall.
I went to the Foundry Food Hall on Friday evening and was delighted to see it busy! There seemed to be a nice mix of college students, families, after-work office folk, and even a group of seniors (70+) all enjoying it! I just hope it will be able to maintain the momentum with added stalls and the new residential and office space.
It draws a big lunchtime crowd as well from what I've seen.STLer wrote: ↑Oct 24, 2021I went to the Foundry Food Hall on Friday evening and was delighted to see it busy! They need to add more signage directing people to the Food Hall though. I've seen several people wandering around asking where the Food Hall is. They seem to assume everyone is arriving by car...
I think you will be pleased with the store design.imran wrote: ↑Jul 24, 2021That’s better news than I was expecting. Why frost the windows then?urbanitas wrote: ↑Jul 23, 2021I walked through the place today, and inquired about that door facing Forest Park Ave. It will serve as a separate entrance for a cafe in the northeast corner of the Fresh Thyme store.GoHarvOrGoHome wrote: ↑Jul 22, 2021I wonder if people can actually use that front door on the street. I have a feeling it will be an emergency exit or for staff only.
I didn't ask, but presumably they will replace the solid steel security door that's in there now with something a bit more inviting...
Most of the windows are transparent and unblocked. Other than some around the back of house area on the FPA side, the only windows that are completely frosted and blocked are behind the deli and meat counter, a cooler, and the wine and liquor counter.
Combined with the huge skylight, there's a ton of natural light, and views in every direction, although, at least in the foreground, the views are mostly just of assorted auto infrastructure...
