They wouldn’t freshen it up to look like the others if they wanted to sell it piecemeal. The garage retail is not filled. What would everyone like to see there? Besides a spirits.
That’s my thought. Also they’re still recruiting high level positions to STL. One of their newest executive vice presidents lives in my building while she finds a new home for her family that currently lives out East.Catcantcat wrote: ↑Sep 30, 2021They wouldn’t freshen it up to look like the others if they wanted to sell it piecemeal. East garage looks like it’s going to be a “medical office.”Catcantcat wrote:The garage retail is not filled. What would everyone like to see there? Besides a spirits.

I would love it if Clayton got an Indian Restaurant. Just a buffet. Something like Curry in a Hurry or Mr. Curry's. I'd also like another sandwich place, even if it is a chain, but I would really love a Pickles. There is really only one quick, affordable sandwich place left: Potbelly.Catcantcat wrote: ↑Sep 30, 2021The garage retail is not filled. What would everyone like to see there? Besides a spirits.
LOL that didn't even cross my mind since I haven't eaten at a subway in 15 years. I stand by my original statement.STLAPTS wrote: ↑Oct 04, 2021Subway
^ What...you're not a Pasta Plus fan?
The Posh Nosh and Protzel's are pretty good delis too. Though Protzel's is in the Hanley/Wydown district, not downtown. Cafe Manhattan and J. McGraugh's have good sandwiches too. But none of these places are fast-food style joints if that's really what you're looking for.

Look, you can get a great sandwich at lots of sit down restaurants, but I am definitely talking about more fast-casual. Protzel's is great, but I work at the northwest corner of DT clayton, so that's not realistic. MC is good, but sit down, takes forever and is just as far away. J. McGraugh's is sit down.
I personally cannot stand Posh Nosh. I have been disappointed every time I have eaten there. Just sh*tty thick cut cold cuts, with sh*tty bread. I put it on the same level as Carl's Deli: a reputation that FAR exceeds actual product.

^^ Sure...but nowadays you don't really HAVE to sit down in any of them. Call in an order, pick it up and walk away. Or have one of the food delivery apps bring it to you. But I agree, none of those places are the cheap fast-food type spots you seem to be looking for.
Mods, you could probably move this to the Restaurant thread at this point.

It appears Centene is investing to reclad this building on Carondelet to match the other 2 towers.

^ huh. did not know that. there was one in the Crestwood Mall food court in the late 90s when I worked at Exhilarama. i think there were a handful of others around town back then but they mostly disappeared from the region.
The transformation of Centene Plaza A ongoing. A very unique opportunity to view this from the street.

Is this just Centene looking to set down roots in it’s East Coast headquarters city or their world headquarters city?

^ They’re only sponsoring the practice and youth jerseys and putting their name on the sleeve of the main one. Plus the field will be “renamed” on game days. That’s really not that big of deal.
Neidorff also just gave some money to the SLU athletics project that was just announced the other day here too. I bet if you dug around you could find some philanthropic work in Sacramento where they maintain thousands of employees and a West Coast HQ as well. Doesn’t seem out of the ordinary they’d do the same in Charlotte.

I hope that’s all it is, but I would feel a lot better if they were sponsoring
St. Louis City SC in some form. Maybe they are, but I’m not aware of it.

I would guess they will have some kind of sponsorship.DogtownBnR wrote: ↑Oct 21, 2021I hope that’s all it is, but I would feel a lot better if they were sponsoring

But if the 3 big sponsors for STL are some combo of
Jersey-Purina
Stadium or sleeve- Bayer and Bud/enterprise/Panera (I know Enterprise/National/WWT aren't supposed to be stadium or jersey but I could see sleeve) some other big name people have heard of then I’m not all that concerned one wasn’t Centene.
I honestly expected them to be a sponsor of Sacramento if they hadn’t botched their team.

I posted this in the MLS thread, but Centene could also just be following through on a promise made by WellCare before it was acquired.

^He’s definitely not using the Kroenke approach. He blasting his intentions loud & clear.
