All they'd need to do is offer decent food and the lunch business would keep them going during off-season. The bar-only business there would seem to be risky.

And it appears this place is already out of business.
Went by today and all the windows are covered with signs asking vendors to call a number.

Bushwoods is closed. From what I understand it was related to the owners of the restaurant having a lot of difficulty with the developer/landlord. They would run an ad on the radio and the landlord would tell then to discontinue because it didn't fit their image. I know the owners have a sucessful rest/bar in Alton and they spent $65.000 in build outs and had plenty of money to spend time developing a clientele. The rent was $7800 a month. The developers have now moved the business offices from Clayton to the upstairs in that building. The restaurant owner has kept all the e-mails that have gone on between them and he's prepared to go to court over the breaking of their lease. In this economy I would think you would want to be a little more willing to work with a tenant.

I know nothing, but regarding the bolded above I'd have to guess the owners had issue with an ad run on 1380, where they'd advertised pretty heavily at times. This particular ad played up the Caddyshack link and had a Rodney Dangerfield impersonator talking up the place.
At the end of the ad, "Rodney" said 'you wont find any gophers here, maybe some...' then referred to another animal that is also a nickname for a certain part of the female anatomy.
Now, I don't know anything about the building owners or whether they were difficult to deal with or not, but I can understand why they might have a problem with that spot. Some of the on-air talent had even mentioned the ad, expressing their suprise that it was allowed to run.
