^ I know of a tall office building that is becoming available downtown and would do the trick of consolidating a large number employees into one recognizable location. Already got the new name of the building. One Boeing Center. Wishful thinking but it would about a game changer for the region
Good for Boeing's presence in St. Louis, bad for the deficit.framer wrote: ↑May 09, 2017New life for F-18 Super Hornets:

To the extent the Hornets are substituting for F-35s it might be good for the deficit, or at least less bad.Ebsy wrote: ↑May 09, 2017Good for Boeing's presence in St. Louis, bad for the deficit.framer wrote: ↑May 09, 2017New life for F-18 Super Hornets:

Isn't there a rather large "IF" looming in this great news?

^You are correct. Forgot to include the IF.
But good news nonetheless.

Saw this and thought I would post.

Boeing has won a contract to bring F-18 Super Hornet fighter jets to San Antonio for upgrades starting next year.
The work on the F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet aircraft at its sprawling South Side facility will start with extending the life of the aircraft for another 3,000 hours and later move into “modernizing” the fleet, Boeing spokesman Justin Gibson said.

Refueling drone could be big contract for Boeing St. Louis plant.

Don't believe it is necessarily a good thing in the long run but with more super hornet orders, the possibility of drone refueling contract as well as jet trainer contract that one region that could benefit greatly on increased defense budget and an out right arms race is St. Louis. Is it possible with all three contracts by end of year that Boeing would need to make additional capital expenditures in St. Louis? Does anyone think Boeing is already knocking on the statehouse/privately discussing with the state about incentives?framer wrote: ↑Apr 10, 2018Refueling drone could be big contract for Boeing St. Louis plant.

I think the reality is Boeing is not downsizing St. Louis ops anytime soon,

Very good news indeed. Now if they can just win the T-X tender... now that would be an enormous win for the region.
MAJOR NEWS:
Boeing beat out Lockheed for the T-X contract.
Assuming this gets through appeals, this is HUGE for the region and Boeing here. What a win.
