Alder pay raise is now the law, the mayor didnt veto or sign the $72,000 pay bill. yesterday was last day she could have done either and without it, the bill becomes law.

Oops. I did search for PAC when I noticed them on a few and must have missed one.

Does anyone have any intel on Ward 10? There are a lot of Coleman signs in my area, but my neighbors are older women so you never see them on the porch in the winter and I haven't been able to ask anyone why him and not Hubbard. Further, the only thing I've heard about Hubbard lately is that she was somehow responsible for the destruction of the beautiful art garden at Union/Maple with Black Jesus &c. I don't know if that's true. And both Hubbard and Coleman have issued campaign materials that are solely anodyne boilerplate. So basically there's one race and I have no information unless I go knock on Mrs Outlaw's door, which is the next step.

Hubbard was engaged when I pitched a fit about the gate on Clara at Delmar which I appreciated. I don't know anything about Coleman. I hope SD hosts a candidate forum. I'd like to know what their ideas are for Lucier Vacant Lot err Park. Also what will they do about obstinate property owners on Delmar. Will they put pressure on Wustl to get going with their properties? How they plan to reduce driving. What they're going to do about 5200 Cates, the corner building in Fountain Park, and the Wellston Station. What will they do with Ward Capital?

I’ve had a lot of positive experiences with Hubbard and think that she is pretty responsive to residents. I think there is more that she could do and you raise good points about what that looks like.

I don’t know Coleman personally, but his interactions with people to his left on Twitter are the type of unprofessional pettiness I have no interest in voting into the BOA.

There was a candidate forum in the new 8th ward last night with a full house at Epiphany Church in Benton Park.

Candidates:  Shedrick (Nato) Kelly, Cara Spencer and Ken Ortmann

I certainly have my choice (Spencer) but I thought they all did well. They also agreed more than disagreed on many of the top issues.

I have nothing but good things to say about the character of all three candidates in the race. The only ugliness I've seen is from some of the same supporters of one candidate who ran in the previous 9th ward.

My hunch as well. Coleman might far a bit better south of Delmar but she’s going to dominate north of it.

I'm curious how the tie for the 2nd spot is handled?

As a 14th Ward voter, I feel good about Rasheen's chances to beat Washington in the general election. She probably doesn't have much room for growth in voters, while Rasheen probably does with Page and Bosley out. For those that don't know, Ebony Washington is a Hubbard. On the flip side, I am absolutely shocked by the poor showing by James Page after he took down Tammika Hubbard 2 years ago.

If it’s still tied when it’s certified they will draw cards out of a deck. That’s not a joke

Rasheen will be fine, he will make up with the Bosleys again and Page voters aren’t interested in a Hubbard clan candidate, I think Washington actually finished 3rd on e day vote and as usual for the hubbard clan, she had a 110 vote lead in absentee votes

Election Day votes
372 Washington 25%

421 Aldridge 30%

404 Bosley 28%

248 Page 17%

Aldridge better have someone with sharp eyes down on Tucker when they are counting absentees in the next round.

Were there repeat votes in some wards? Some final results show numbers way over 100%.

9th Ward voters clearly rejected both incumbents. No sugarcoating that one.

^With approval voting allowing for "approving" of multiple candidates, it's unlikely for the percentage to not be over, if not well over 100%.

I'm a little surprised by how close the results were in Ward 4 -- I thought Vaccaro would win soundly.

The Daniela Velazquez win in Ward 6 became predictable as we got closer to election -- it felt like she had a 2-to-1 sign advantage throughout the neighborhood.

Vaccaro has been taking a bit of a whipping on socials, at least in my limited viewership.  The police incident a year or two ago, his attempt to masquerade his endorsement by the police leadership committee or whatever as the STLPOA, the pay to play daycare thing.  All he has to brag about are pot holes getting repaired and some streets getting paved.  And getting a police camera or two installed, which is rather a pointless thing when the quality is that of a potato at night and most criminals are using stolen cars to commit the crime, so what's the point unless you're able to connect several dots and patterns to the criminals and mode of transport.

I thin Vaccaro would be better suited for an NIS position.  Narayan has a better compass IMO, and a better idea of full-city.  I want my ward services to matter, but sounds like the best of both worlds if we can get a guy who has the ethics to get in touch with departments and assist rather than being somewhat of an antiquated voice in politics.

I have little to no idea of how the process works for appointment as an NIS, though.

It’s a civil service position which starts at ~$43k. Anyone can apply: https://www.stlouis-mo.gov/government/d ... 5&detail=1

Pihl edged out Gras, it'll be her vs. Browning in the 9th ward.
