Cathie Wood is one of the stupidest people on earth so that doesn't give me a lot of confidence.

Morale is down after we got the news. I think I'm good because I'm pretty specialized, but I need to clean up resume.

Hoping you and your colleagues are unaffected by the layoffs. Certainly an industry wide trend right now.

Block, formerly Square, lays off 67 in Missouri
Block, the parent company of Square and mobile payment service Cash App, did not immediately return requests for comment or questions about how many employees it has in the St. Louis area,

4k employees globally were let go today. This is right after about 1k have been let go the past month for performance. The company now has around 6k full-time employees. I'm not sure how many in STL were impacted, but my guess is at least 100.

Looks like I was right to e skeptical. Wouldn't be surprised if this little dog and pony show ends its run in the next few years.

I think everyone I know that worked at Square was let go... 3 out of 3 - I hope that's not indicative of the overall impact.

Yeah, I'm slowly finding out that a lot of STL employees were impacted. Morale is really down. All in-office social events have been cancelled. I have no motivation to go in anymore outside of meeting up with the few colleagues of mine who have survived the layoffs. All thanks to the push for AI, which I still don't know how to utilize for my particular job...

Block isn't the only tenant, so that's up to the building owners. I believe an AI company occupies the top two floors... ironically.
