Speaking of Koppermans (see previous "extra" list), their "Any Pork in a Storm" sandwich is pretty high on my list. As a highly assimilated ethnic jew, I can't argue strongly enough for this hot corned beef, bacon, and coleslaw monstrosity.
The Benton Park cannot be beat.
But the entire place is fantastic. Authentic, right down to the last detail, Chicago hot dogs, the crushed ice that somebody else mentioned, Green River sodas.
Mom's is pretty good, and I know it's an institution, but Vince has them beat.
Does anyone know if the McLozzi Deli at McNair & Pestalozzi ever opened up? I moved out of the neighborhood and haven't been by there recently. If so, any reviews?

In order of my favs...although I only get to hit them once or so a year now that I don't live in STL anymore. They were all south side spots I was closed to.

McLozzi's is open, I got handed a menu when I went to the rock and roll craft show a while back. Menu looked good but I haven't eaten there.

I have. Its not bad. The Italian was pretty good. I want to try the Gobbler (Turkey, dressing, cranberries). Nowhers close to Blues City though. They are the best I have been to.
