A 50 Floor Building? Here is Detroits 52 Floor Building @ 734ft tall Proposal. It would look good in our City if it wasn't along the Riverfront, South of Interstate 64 or on the Kiener Garages would look good.

. We already missed the ripe opportunity to change 44/70 into a 3rd street boulevard when we built the park over the highway and revitalized the arch grounds. That was the perfect time IMO.dylank wrote: ↑Mar 02, 2017Makes me wonder if St. Louis will ever challenge the Arch's height. (I understand West of Broadway has no limit in CBD). We don't necessarily need to now with construction costs offsetting rents and so forth, but I think it would be interesting to see if there would be debate.
I believe one of the Bottle District towers exceeded the Arch's height. That seems like a ripe development project that could follow a 70 boulevard conversion.
Have to agree, it is starting to becoming believe when I see it thought.debaliviere wrote: ↑Jun 05, 2017If this guy ever turns talk into action, it will be very exciting for STL.
The only place a hotel makes sense to me in the near future is Drury breaking ground on its ideal Laclede's Location and even then I don't see that happening until regions commits to CVC convention upgradesurban_dilettante wrote: ^^ a hotel for WHAT? apartments would be a good start toward populating the north riverfront but another hotel?
Thirded. We need new, attractive apartments.dredger wrote: ↑Jun 06, 2017Have to agree, it is starting to becoming believe when I see it thought.debaliviere wrote: ↑Jun 05, 2017If this guy ever turns talk into action, it will be very exciting for STL.

I know of things about the tower itself and it is having some movement. Design is still being tweaked and overall specs (height, square footage) are still being dealt with. Could come this week or sometime before July because I’ve known about this since January but it is moving pretty slow.Chalupas54 wrote:^ Not to stir the pot, but I have heard something may be brewing for this. BuildingSTL has been alluding to a major project on the riverfront, that could be announced next week. Chris, if you have any additional info you can share, let us know!
Here is why I think they would be building there...
Think of this tower being around 600 feet +/- a few feet. The Gateway Casino proposal would’ve been really out of place at the time (which can be seen in the UnbuiltSTL thread on Page 2). It will look out of place in the skyline but I have hope that Alterra takes into consideration that the area around it needs some love.St.Louis1764 wrote:Is this suppose new high-rise going to 50 floors & 458 ftseriously if this gets built it will look very out of range with the rest of the skyline however wasn't at one time where Lumiere Casino stands proposed as a new convention hotel & to be the tallest building in St.Louis?
This would be nice to have at Chouteau’s Landing but you never know the real reasons why developers choose where they go. Lumiere’s Plan is probably entirely dead. Bottle District I don’t see moving anytime soon. Plus, I don’t think this tower will be Office, I heard it will be Residential, Hotel and Parking. Now, the plans may have changed. Does anyone know if Bissingers is looking for more office space (if any)?bwcrow1s wrote:One obvious spot for me would have been closer to Downtown or Chouteau's Landing. Then infill and rehab of the existing buildings to create an incubator and residential neighborhood. But the same could be said of north of the Landing. And imagine if the Drury tower comes to fruition, it might look a bit less odd, and maybe, just maybe Lumiere pitching in from its promises a decade ago. Won't hold my breath on that one though. Same if a proposal for Bottle District ever comes back.
My only other curiosity of this is whethwe they have an office tenant already involved or in the works. Seems like a risky move especially when AT&T might be reworked for a new tenant. Maybe there is just more going on behind the scenes than I can imagine.
