In the photo above of artistic paints is that actual windows and or maybe more artistic paint?  Taking the rowhouse theme and no windows you could do a say 3 story work/loft combo.   Ground floor is workspace/commercial space divided into the same number of above living spacings.  You rent a commercial space & get a living space above or vice versa for marketing sake.   Of course the biz model probably doesn't come close on return of investment being a new structure & that associated cost.
