This is looking good. Leasing has apparently started. Some listings were made to Trulia and Zillow and a property website has launched (although, it's not finished yet). Rent ranges from $1350-$2395 per month for apartments here which are all one- and two-bedroom. Apartment square footages are larger than the floor plans I was provided early last year. I wonder why the variation is so much.

The website says 24 units are available compared to the 28 announced, so something is up unless they removed 4 units for larger ones (doesn't seem that way though).

That looks so much better now - really should help liven that corner up. Incredibly glad it got saved.

According to the property website, there are 13 units left to lease. You love to see it.

Before and afters. The transformation we hoped for...

Great to see. Big middle finger to the trolls.
I hope people see that things besides grassy lots, parking lots,  and gas stations are viable along here.

^^I don't think they were all trolls. There was a member here who had a business next door and bricks were falling off the building onto their property, as I recall. I am deeply, deeply glad to see this building saved. With hindsight, this is clearly a winner. But I don't want to call someone whose property or worse, possibly self was at risk of injury from the building's previous state of decay a troll. (Mind you, there were and are some trolls. And sure, flip 'em any finger you want. Especially the ones with development authority at SLU that want to tear down everything.)

That said , , , yeah!!! That looks positively fabulous, and it's a worthy winner.

^ I mean, I did work in the adjacent building at the time and they did have a section of the parking lot in the back blocked off after a portion of the cornice and some brickwork fell into it. Though as soon as the dudes from SSM came traipsing through our lab and mentioned "demoed for parking" I PM'd Chris that night hoping he had some connections that could do something to save it.

In any case, I'm extremely glad it was saved and it really does look phenomenal.

I was referring to the troglodytes commenting on the NextStl article, on Twitter and Facebook.

Is it just me, or does the first floor seem kind of incongruous? It does seem to match up with the historic photos, but it just seems off somehow. Can't put my finger on it.

Of course, I'm just nitpicking; it really turned out great.

The UrbanSTL and St. Louis Twitter world stopped this demolition and made SLU take a second look. The end result is a positive one. Nice stuff.

I have heard from industry types that the head of the SLU real estate arm can be very difficult to work with.

Glad they got this one right!
