Those things look like toys.

The wind turbines are ugly and mar the appearance of an otherwise beautiful and historic building. If they are really just "symbolic," then I can't understand why the PB would approve them.
Isn't there something idiotic in the fact that Wash U. spends millions of dollars to make brand new buildings look like renaissance palaces but then feels the need to "modernize" a genuinely historic building?
I'm all for wind energy. But empty gestures like this just make the whole effort look silly.

Did they do the LED lighting?
I like them. When people are walking down delmar it'll be another cool little architectural surprise. I can see people looking up and saying "what's that?" Even if they are just symbolic, they bring up an interesting question, which is how do you update a historic building to be sustainable?

Agreed. Symbolic or not, I think there's something quite exciting about these turbines joining other rooftop features (bowling signage, the moonrise hotel's moon, the dancers on blueberry hill, various other signs and marquees).
The Loop's sky is almost as entertaining as its ground.

I just noticed there are for lease signs now posted in the storefronts. I believe these have gone up in the last week or so. This is one handsome building. I wonder if the lighting will ever go up on the front facing Delmar?

I think it's already up - though I haven't been in the Loop at night for a while.
