House of Denmark is on Olive west of 270. They have a wide selection, some of it high quality like Natuzzi sofas, some that doesn't look very high quality. But it's worth a look.

Crate & Barrel has a pretty good selection too, if you haven't been there yet. And Z Gallerie at the Galleria has some interesting stuff.

Bova furniture on far west Olive has the most spectacular furniture you will ever see, Shillig from Germany, etc...but it is sick expensive $5K for the Shillig Chicago sectional. I wanted one but couldn't afford it, but if you can afford the best, I would check that place out. The place brought tears to my eyes. I tried to negotiate with them and they wouldn't budge.

The Ambiente Collection downtown is closed. Casa Semplace, which used to be in it, moved into its own store.

Even though they're big nasty national chains, I found that Ashley Furniture and Lane have some nice modern stuff mixed through the store.

BTW, if you are also in the market for putting up good oil paintings, skethces or noveau art, make sure you check out local artists. I attended the Washington Avenue Music Fest (3 times this year) and local artists had set their wares. We have a lot of local talent and their stuff is unique (and good). Unfortunately, you will have to catch them at local festivals, etc. To my knowledge none of the people in the music fest had a commercial outlet.

Lane, at least, is a locally owned big nasty national chain...
