Try Giovanni's or Trattoria Marcella. King Louie's has been popular for years. Tony's is probably the top. Terrene is pretty good.

I think Tony's has been coasting for years. Still great service, but the food doesn't equal the price.

Goddammit...

STL Post-Dispatch: Overnight fire damages Vin de Set restaurant in Downtown West
  • The roof's outdoor area had a "heavy" fire that left a hole in the deck.
  • The rest of the building is relatively unburnt, including the third floor interior.
  • Smoke and water damage on floors 1-3.

Horrible.

I was just suggesting that place to someone that wanted a nice rooftop view of St. Louis.

Not  sure if this has been posted yet.

"Apartments, Restaurant Planned for Vin de Set Building.

Rich Conyers, principal at architecture firm BOTI Studio and owner of construction firm C2 STL, is leading an effort to renovate the 1870s-era building at 2017 Chouteau Ave. in Downtown West to include a mixture of event space, loft apartments, offices and a new restaurant."

^I hope they bring the basement back. I had only just started going to the beer cellar when everything closed down, and I quite liked the place.

Hope restaurant means bringing the rooftop back.
I saw the owners instagram story and they said "...and yes, we have plans for that iconic rooftop"

That story broke here:  https://www.stlmag.com/dining/vin-de-set-centennial-malt-house-new-ownership/ The rooftop is slated to be an event venue.
