Here is the new plan to replace the Village Bar and the Flag Store. To be called "The Shoppes at the Village".

Is that name parody? I don't think it could be more cliché if they tried.

I know. That's why I posted it. This way we can all recall the good times at village bar as we walk down the aisles at the CVC at the shoppes at the village. It's like shooting your favorite pet Towser and replacing him with a stuffed animal that you name Towser.

I think I posted this response 5 years ago, the last time some entity wanted to create an olde towne shoppe, but I guess the statute of limitations something something...so as a refresher:
Do you guys remember the Dave Barry column when he proposed a tax for every extra "e?"

This place has been such a part of my life that I can't even fathom the thought of it not being there. From post soccer game burgers as a kid to mini family reunions with my family each time I came into town this place has been the host of much joy over the years.

Since I came back to STL the first time in 2008 and the second time in 2014, The Brewery was lost to InBev, Busch II was destroyed, KMOX was replaced by KTRS (thankfully that was rectified in short order), Chuck's Bar and Grill closed, the Rams are being dangled over California, and now the Village Bar is on the chopping block. As a kid who grew up in Des Peres....the times, they are a changin'.

Change the title. VB is staying open under new ownership!
