Hi,

I am opening an urban pet supply store to meet the needs of downtown pet owning residents. We are tentatively set to open in the Tudor Complex on the 19th block of Washington Avenue. We'll offer a wide range of supplies, treats, and services for pets. I'll happily answer any questions you may have about the shop!

Also if you are a downtown resident, please take a second and fill out the short survey on our temporary webpage. We want to be sure to stock everything downtown residents feel they need, and your input will help us greatly. In exchange for your aid, we'll mail you an invitation to our grand opening where you'll get first look at the store, to mingle with other downtown pet owners, discounts on our merchandise, and complementary people and animal fresh baked treats.

Thanks!

Mike

Wow nice.

It is almost scary, as soon as Schnucks opens up downtown, with City Pet Supply... the only thing I would need to never leave downtown would be a traders Joe (to compliment Schnucks since it is not a whole foods)

to continue...

EVERY weekend we have to travel to brentwood to go to...

1. Supermarket

2. PetsMart

We are so used it to. Almost scary that we could actually walk everywhere for our needs. Considering there was almost nothing 2 years ago.

Thanks for all of the words of encouragement guys. I'm a downtown resident as well, so I want downtown to have all the services we need to succeed.

Since you guys all live in downtown buildings could you do me a favor? Post the link to our site on your private building forums so I can reach as many people as possible with the survey. If downtown pet owners need it, we want to stock it.

You do know there is a PetsMart on Kingshighway right? Quicker than Brentwood from downtown too, or at least just as quick.

Possibly, just request what you'd like on the survey and we will do our best to accommodate!

Don't know if you're joking. You might have to mail order.

You can buy food and stuff at PetSmart but sales of pet turtles (mainly the adorable red-eared sliders) are prohibited in the U.S.

I'm sure you knew that though...

My freinds have rescue turtles, mostly box turtles people find on the road, but they also have a tortoise and they took in a snapper when he was the size of a quarter. They snapper has gone on to a home, a coutnry home, in Illionois. They did not buy any of their turtles.

Wonder? Will City Pet set up aquariums for office buildings/etc.

When I lived in Cincy, it was not uncommon to see giant salt water tanks built into walls in corporate lobbies/restaurants. Really cool.

not to derail the thread...

As a young boy I got a red ear from a pet shop. I died of disease. A lot of red ears had it. Then too many case of salmonella and by the late 70s/80s no more turtles in pet shops.

I've had my share of box turtles in cardboard boxes--finicky eaters, BTW.

My condolences. Good to see, albeit a bit creepy, that you are still able to post.

All this talk of turtles and rabbits is making me hungry...

I own a pet rabbit who uses a litter box and roams around as well, but we keep him in the cage at night since he likes to eat the drywall when we're not looking. So we will definately stock rabbit litter. Probably Yesterday's News as I've found that it works the best.

No, not a joke. I know of at least two box turtles living in one downtown loft building. I'm sure there's more.

BTW, as others have said, turtles don't do well as pets. Unless you really know how to take care of them, they're best left in the wild.
