I've never had a problem finding parking any further than 2 blocks from my destination in the Grove. I echo the sentiment that the complaining is just symptomatic of carbrain culture in the region. People...we have legs...use them FFS.

Although I'm not frequenting night life destinations as a very boring person, I can confidently say that friends visiting in the evening have never complained about finding a nearby spot. Whenever they drive in to dine out, the same is true.

In fact, several neighbors are also car-light folks like ourselves and utilize the ped bridge to take the MetroLink or otherwise bike/walk to work. I don't think this is as car dependent of a neighborhood as people here seem to be suggesting that it is.
I drive past the most weekend evenings and Vandaventer parking is always packed. So a lot of people end up parking on Vandaventer and don't even try to find a spot actually "in" the Grove.

If the demand is that damned high then the city can build a garage and charge for its use. I'm weary of this whole "We need more parking!" crap leading to bad, unwalkable, dangerous neighborhoods. I've never had a problem parking there. Never. Sometimes it takes me a hot minute to find a spot, and sometimes I have to walk a block, but it's never a problem. Not going to Urban Chestnut, not Sameem, not my bank, not anything anytime I've been there. You hear the same argument about Midtown, about downtown, about Soulard, about every damn halfway hot neighborhood in town. It's never true about any of them. If it's too hard to find parking then we're not charging enough for parking, end of sentence. Put in more meters. Raise the price until there's always about ten percent or so vacant at any given time. Make a profit. And use the revenue to fund transit expansion. Problem. Solved.

I’ve had “StL parking issues” in the Grove but not actual parking issues. Maybe have to round the block again or park a few blocks away from my Grammophone pick up. If they really need parking, I would be fine with them doing a public garage over right by the rail yards since that’s going to be difficult land use or some additional parking on the unusable land abutting the interstate around Sarah. Clean up Vandeventer and make it pedestrian friendly and a couple garage a few block away would make it all work fine

It’s a shame the interstate prevents the Grove from being more transit accessible or just part of the CWE where it would be more walkable between the park/Euclid/Manchester. It’s just in such an island between the interstate and rail/other interstate, plus Kingshighway and Vandeventer serving as moat roads

Agreed.

And if I'm going out at night in the grove, or anywhere, I'm more often than not I'm taking an lyft because I'm going out for drinks.

Part of the parking issue is caused by some side streets being permit only. I have thought having a parking garage much like the one in the loop would work well. It could replace one of the industrial buildings between Vandy and Manchester as long as it had safe and clear connections to Manchester.
