Slow down in spending after 9 months of 2024 region wide, most of the negative for downtown was July-Sept when the cardinals probably had 750,000 less fans come down...most of the City CIDs were on the positive side

Is there a common source for this data? Since i'm curious how other places did. Especially in areas outside of the City, County, or St. Charles County.

Anybody have a pulse on how downtown did with traffic this weekend for before Christmas rush, home travelers, tourists, winterfest, Bragging Rights? These are the kind of weekends we need good traffic if we are ever going to build up business, Not a packed weekend of events but enough where it should feel vibrant.
I was gone to see my girlfriend’s family. Were bars/restaurants busy? How did some of the limited retail stores we do have like Whip It Goods, Waxed out, the clothing stores look?

Btw is Starbucks at BPV still open? I could have sworn it wasn't there a couple of weeks ago when I visited. Google says "temporarily closed". Online news articles seem inconclusive on its fate.dbInSouthCity wrote: ↑Dec 13, 2024we have a subway, McDonalds, kfc, Starbucks, Papa JohnsPlatinumBlues wrote: ↑Dec 13, 2024Is there any reason for the lack of fast food chains in downtown? I wish there was a Panda Express & Bojangles & Zaxbys but that’s asking for too muchEither way a food hall on Wash Ave sounds great.

No idea, seems like a dispute between franchisee and corporate.

It's currently "temporarily closed" according to a sign on the door, but no merchandise or equipment has been removed. Deliver some fresh beans and pastries and they could reopen tomorrow.
Similar to the state of the Starbucks on DeBaliviere. I assume they are the same franchisee

that is how the Expo at Forest Park Starbucks closed. It started with temporarily closed sign and now just this last week they draped a black cloth on its signs.GoHarvOrGoHome wrote: ↑Dec 23, 2024It's currently "temporarily closed" according to a sign on the door, but no merchandise or equipment has been removed. Well on the plus side if they are permanent closures a potential independent coffee shop will have a beautiful Starbucks quality cafe buildout waiting for them

Went to Katie’s at BPV for an early dinner around 5 and there was about 13 tables. By the time we left at 6:30 there was 20 tables.delmar2debaliviere2downtown wrote: ↑Dec 22, 2024Anybody have a pulse on how downtown did with traffic this weekend for before Christmas rush, home travelers, tourists, winterfest, Bragging Rights? This is starting to be a trend and good news for Downtown, there are dozens or so example of firms staying in downtown by going to another building (HOK, anthem, us bank finance impact, Sandberg Phoenix ect) the downtown market is starting to stabilize. GSL and the mayors office has put in alot of work to stop the bleeding by having meetings with firms who’s lease is expiring. They don’t succeed in keeping them all but I think they’ve done enough that in 2025 we can start to see some gains.

They need to fight like hell to keep TC downtown
- 927
Just some scuttle, but they gone if there isn’t some movement on building a shiny BPV spot
- 1,797
To where? Is there room for another 200 attorney firm in the Centene Towers?
- 9,566
You'd think BPV would be a slam dunk location for them.
Any idea if the owners of US Bank Plaza have a plan to refill the 200k sf of space that they occupy in that building when they do eventually leave?

Chris mentioned some time ago that there was a plan for TC to go to BPV and their space turned into a hotel at US bank tower.

Hotel? The corner of 9th and Pine was going to be a hotel. The Jefferson is part hotel. There is a big hole at the corner of Jefferson at Market that was going to be a hotel. The Le Meridian has their lights on but thats about all
We need more hotels??
And what happened to an announcement some months ago regarding some big infusion of monies into the downtown??

Le Meridian had a pipe burst and flooded the entire first floor (literally not even a year after they renovated the entire building) they’ll be back and running in Q1, after another renovation

Correct. I heard from a good source that TC is/was looking at a Ballpark Village office. The US Bank Tower would receive a hotel as part of an overall overhaul of the building. It’s all dependent on TC’s home.dbInSouthCity wrote: ↑Dec 28, 2024Chris mentioned some time ago that there was a plan for TC to go to BPV and their space turned into a hotel at US bank tower.

Cool. TC and Enterprise Mobility should be more than enough to get an office building off the ground
I have heard the same thing.Chris Stritzel wrote: ↑Dec 28, 2024Correct. I heard from a good source that TC is/was looking at a Ballpark Village office. Arch grounds are very busy today. Kiener busy too. Too bad Jack Patrick’s is about the only bar/restaurant east of Tucker that is open (other than BPV).
