Why is some of this stuff so tight-lipped? It's an apartment building.Chris Stritzel wrote: ↑Jan 24, 2024This is good news, but I’d advise you to not elaborate further. ^ and also literally 100s of people know the details and Cardinals staff openly talk about it in group settings,

It’s not that it has to be tight-lipped, it’s that it should be. If you’re talking about it amongst a group of people at a bar somewhere, that’s common. You trust people enough to talk about this stuff in that way. But when you say that you’re in the construction industry and naming specifics on a publicly accessible online forum, it can blowback in your company’s face. It’s even likely that the developer will feel obliged to raise questions as to why details were discussed with the company you work for. I’m all for people talking about new things and dropping hints, but revealing key details beforehand is concerning.bwcrow1s wrote: ↑Jan 26, 2024Why is some of this stuff so tight-lipped? Discuss that stuff over a beer. It’s more likely than not going to be partially forgotten about or mixed up with something else.

Nah, simply don't want the new guy to get in sideways of his NDA.

I wager anyone would want to put out information on their project on their terms. But we like the hunt for info and finding out before the official announcement. It is what it is.

Exactly. I don’t want the new user getting in trouble. This would be different if a user claimed they worked for the Cardinals and Cordish and are closely involved in the project. Even then, there might be grounds to justify not saying much.TheWayoftheArch_V2.0 wrote: ↑Jan 26, 2024Nah, simply don't want the new guy to get in sideways of his NDA.

To Quincunx’s point, hunting for info before an official announcement is a fun game. Sometimes you find stuff. Other times you don’t. It varies widely.

It's also possible that WintheLou is a regular user here that created a burner account
WintheLou should have said they heard a rumor. I know they were probably anxious to share the good news, but they probably should have kept it more anonymous. This board has been very popular for leaks over the years.
Wasn’t my call but watched the Super Bowl at Ballpark Village.
-even with $10 to $15 cover it was pretty full
-probably 3/4 Chiefs and 1/4 49ers fans
-but the DJ announcer was all Chiefs as they played songs/chants from Arrowhead. Made me sick.
-watched someone in a lifted pickup truck blast through the gate exiting the parking lot facing east.

The Arch Apparel store on Hanley is closing so this BPV location will be their only storefront.GoHarvOrGoHome wrote:Well that’s kind of a big deal

Makes sense, that location was good for a plucky storefront, but was obsolete for the size of company they grew into. They have nice distribution these days to stores across the region including most Schnuck's. I'm sure they probably have seperate warehouse space these days for their e-commerce operations.
Future standalone locations will look a lot more like the BPV space and a lot less like the Brentwood space. I could see them trying out a location in the West County Mall or Galleria

I could've sworn they had a location in West County Mall, did that close too?

The Streets of St. Charles location is still open

As someone who will not root for the Chiefs and still stings from the NFL's exit from St. Louis, I have conceded with Mahomes and the added Kelce/Swift angle we are pretty much a secondary market for them at this point.dweebe wrote: ↑Feb 12, 2024Wasn’t my call but watched the Super Bowl at Ballpark Village.

^ And that was the motivation behind the Hunt's backing Kroenke's exit from STL.
Screw them, I could never root for that team.
Anyway, back on topic. Gray is injured, we need some good news. Come on Dewitt's, give us some details and timelines for 2CW!

I'm no Chiefs fan, but STL is "officially" Chiefs territory. KMOX broadcasts the games, plus every fan the switched sides after the Rams was immediately rewarded with the Mahomes dynasty to solidify their fandom. Chiefs aren't going anywhere around here.

I wonder what would have happened around here if Reid, Mahomes, Kelce, Swift, and Co. were with the Indianapolis Colts, a team that is about as far from St. Louis as the Kansas City Chiefs are.
Any wishful talk out there of BPV pulling trigger on next residential tower for upcoming construction season.
There has been a Chiefs fan base here ever since the The Big Red left. Friend's dad had been a Cardinals season ticket holder and got Chiefs season tickets in 88, he use to drive up with a bunch of guys from St. Louis, kept them till the Rams came in 95, rooted for them till the day he passed.RockChalkSTL wrote: ↑Mar 06, 2024I wonder what would have happened around here if Reid, Mahomes, Kelce, Swift, and Co. were with the Indianapolis Colts, a team that is about as far from St. Louis as the Kansas City Chiefs are.
I think they gravitated to the Chiefs out of familiarity with KC and them being in state, Indy may be closer but more people ID with KC. That fan base remained even during the Rams years and of course accelerated after they left. StL is their #2 market outside of KC - Well played Hunts.
Since phase III is out of the bag I wonder when they will unveil it. Maybe mid summer to take our mind off of Carp hitting .160 and Lynn with an ERA of 7 - I wish the best for those guys, but man... I just don't see it happening, will gladly eat my words.

I heard a quick soundbite this morning on KMOX from Tom Schmidt about his Salt + Smoke BPV location. They assumed that traffic would be high during games but thought off season would be slow. It's not been that way though and the BPV location is regularly his busiest restaurant.
Nice to hear, get 2CW going!

Our production team recently did an interview for the Post-Dispatch with Bill DeWitt III. Not too many details, but some recent words:
Cliff's notes: have done design work, would love to do another one, 1CW has been successful, financing and building costs suck right now.
Also, side note, the series as a whole has a really great set of interviews with regional business leaders. Referencing Tom Schmidt of Salt & Smoke above, yes, he says BPV is their busiest location in the interview we shot with him.
