From someone at SLDC: “ Downtown North are the properties north of Washington (The Globe, Block aka Square, etc.). We’ll see more development coming in the near future in this area.”

Great marketing but I can't help but feel bearish on downtown north becoming some kind of innovation district. Feels like the powers that be should be focusing on filling office space in downtown proper or Cortex for this. Wish them the best here.

If I were them I would try to throw some money at Google to get a Google Maps/Earth presence in this district, even if it's just a few local teams and mostly symbolic. Having a Google Maps/Earth logo on a building up there would be a blinking signal to the geospatial world that St. Louis is the place to be.

I wish them well but why does it have to be Downtown North? Why can’t it just be a cluster of real estate in Downtown St. Louis?
