The BoA will be torn down? I recall the murals inside. Its somewhat a substantial building. Chunk of change to demo and build a mere Taco Bell. Large parking expanse in the rear.  Seems as if the Taco Bell will be awash in open space. Maybe additional something can join the Taco Bell?

There was a $1M building permit application submitted May 30 and a demo permit application submitted June 15.
I presume there will be two floors of apartments above? LOL.

  • Unfortunately, the City believes the conversion of the property to a fast-food restaurant, with drive-thru, will not negatively affect traffic flow on Kingshighway or Gravois.
The business model depends upon it being a car magnet, smh.

Bank of America sure seems to be contracting their presence here in St. Louis.

I think you're going to see most big banks do that in most metros.

Is it a Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell? I hear it's hard to meet up with friends there, so those buildings must be pretty big.

All banks are. I’m a BOA customer for 15 years now and I haven’t been to a branch since the Obama administration

Maybe it will be a Ken-Taco-Hut!

The ultra rare fast food Triumvirate housed in a single building!

Yeah, pretty dang gross, especially considering this isn't even half a mile from the Hampton-Gravois transit center.

St. Louis has outdated land use planning and very little standards. That's the problem. A city must have vision to execute proper urban form.

Agreed. This is a terrible use of what could be a prominent intersection. What's there isn't great, but this is even worse. Is there any way to block this?

The Board of Adjustment approved variances last week. I don't think there's anything else.

Kirkwood did not allow a drive-in window Starbucks right downtown kitty corner from Spencer's Diner.

Kirkwood does have a Taco Bell near downtown with a drive-up window.  Half the time they unpredictably lock all the doors and only accept drive-through.  But their app still let's you order for inside pickup, which means, if you choose that option and walk there, you have get in line with cars to get your order at the drive-up window.  Anti-walkable.
