Rosati-Kain on Lindell to Close

Didn't know where to put this, so . . .

It's been announced that Rosati-Kain HIgh School on Lindell is closing. It's a great building in a great location; should be a no-brainer for redevelopment, probably as apartments.

I assume that it will stay open independent of the church like St.Marys will attempted, although if the church is strapped for cash i can see it not allowing Rosati to keep the property free of charge.

Lesson here:
When a (catholic) school tells you they need to demolish a building to create parking for their students or they would relocate?, don’t fall for it. We are all poorer for it in the long run.

On the other hand that building would make a great walkable location for a (charter) school serving neighborhood kids.

Yup. Remember how Rosati-Kain threatened to leave the city unless they got their surface parking lot in place of the San Luis? What a waste. Maybe the Archdiocese will sell the parking lot now- could be a good redevelopment opportunity? Not holding my breath though...
