You can see how far the new imagery goes because it changes from winter to summer somewhere around McKnight/170 to the west, 270 to the north, the Mississippi to the east, and right before Carondelet/Holly Hills to the south
The winter imagery is actually great because you can actually see the houses in the Tower Grove area!
I LOVE the winter images.  They should always shoot in the winter in my opinion, plus it appears the quality of the images has gotten better.  In some parts it almost looks like a different city compared to the previous images.

Beautiful, mostly unbroken, density in South St. Louis:

Lafayette Park:

Central West End:

North Side:

And even a little suburban density around where I live:

We have an update!
Don't know how far the update covers, but no TopGolf in Chesterfield Valley.
TopGolf, Pfizer, and several new apartment buildings are visible in Chesterfield now.  Looks like there was a recent update out there too.

Is this all in Google Earth?
I'm seeing the same old same old on Google Maps.
My problem was that I didn't have it set to "globe view"

Not STL related, but I really wish Google Maps would pay more attention to African cities. I love exploring cities on GM, but it like they don't even care about Africa. Kampala for example, a city with a higher population than the STL metro, has no streetview, no 3D, and a cloud obscuring a large part of their CBD.

Cairo and Lagos are among the largest cities on Earth, but no 3D? At least Lagos has some street view but not in Cairo.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the only country with consistent 3D is South Africa, and the only other place I've seen 3D is in a small section of Tunis. What gives?

Not to go OT, but speaking of African cities--the downtown/skyline pictures that surprised me was Luanda. Not sure how I came across it, just surfing like you do...

It appears Google has reverted all of the STL satellite imagery back to several years ago.  Both in the city and suburbs.  Anyone else notice this?

^No, I hadn't noticed, but you are entirely correct. That's a true shame. Hopefully it's a just glitch and they'll sort it out quickly.

Yep, just caught onto it a couple days ago. Doesn't matter what browser you use, either (Chrome, Firefox, and Edge all show the old imagery). Super freaking obnoxious.

The Google Earth desktop app has what looks like imagery from 9/21 for most all of the metropolitan area if anyone is interested.

Most recent 3D imagery has returned.

If anybody wants to report the Eads not allowing walking directions, that'd be helpful.

Apparently it takes many, many reports to fix stuff like that. It's a bit frustrating the effort it takes to get basic stuff like that fixed. Right now it tells you to walk via the McKinley Bridge to go from Wash Ave to the Casino Queen.

I noticed they updated the Poplar Street Bridge streetview to December 2021. Skyline's looking good:

Looks like they updated the imagery for the Metro East as well after a long lull over there.  Nice to see.

I love coming across the Poplar on a clear, sunny afternoon.  You can see clear out to the high-rises of Clayton.

Looks like most of the City and Central Corridor have been updated to sometime around the first week of March 2021.

What do you think is going on with this B2 Stealth Bomber?

If you zoom it the rubber marks on the pavement look to like they match with the ones in the dirt. Wonder if it blew a tire or something and had to veer off the runway.

Kind of impressive that Google happened to use imagery taken right after that happened. Wonder if the USAF will make them blur the plane like they've done for B2s in the past?

^Why on earth would they need to blur a stealthy plane? Shouldn't it be invisible anyway? ;-)

I kid. (But only a little since I'm fairly convinced the B-2 and B-21 are colossal wastes of money.)

Speaking of Google Maps captures, the new update caught what looks to be a KC-135 on F6 at McDonnel Douglas land and apparently taxiing out to Foxtrot on the north side of the airport:

USGS got an update...though if you zoom in any further than this it reverts to old imagery.  MLS is really starting to take shape.

Love to see the green return, makes the city look some much more alive than the winter imagery
Nice spot.  I would have happily waited longer though so some of these projects (Expo, MLS) could have gotten across the finish line first.

^ As long as you have Globe View on they should load automatically.  You can see even more up to date imagery on the desktop app (it's also much easier to compare to older imagery with the app).
