Not sure how many folks on this forum have actually been to the Streets of St. Charles recently, given the amount of suburbaphobia on here but this place seems to be a huge hit. Most of the happy hours for my company (located in St. Louis County btw) take place in the Streets of St. Charles, so I’ve been there quite often. It’s always packed. Most of my coworkers around my age live in St. Louis City but they still make the trip out to St. Charles for after work happy hours. I agree with Chris that this will get built, but not just because the region keeps expanding westward. We gotta give a little credit where it’s due. The Streets is by far the most successful “fake urban” development in the entire St. Louis metro area. Also, glad to see St. Charles will finally be adding condos and not just apartments. I once joked to one of my coworkers that I would like to live near The Streets since we’re there so often, but I would want to own and build equity and not throw away money towards rent. Maybe I’m in the minority, but if I had to choose between this getting built vs the “Chesterfield Downtown”, I’d choose this any day. It’s just a short walk from the regions largest casino, and of course Historic Main Street, which is NOT suburban. The Wildhorse/Chesterfield Mall development is literally surrounded by suburban houses on huge lots with massive driveways. This area of St. Charles is nothing like that. Its historic, charming, and somewhat urban. The area certainly has its flaws though; there’s a massive strip mall nearby, anchored by a Bass Pro with a sea of parking.

Hate to burst your bubble, but the Streets of St. Charles is not as lily white as you think and is actually fairly mixed. The real white flight is now out to Wentzville.

Here are renderings for the "Chicken N Pickle" location at Riverpointe. It is seen in Parcel A on the massing map and can be seen in the colorized rendering. Kansas City-based Populous is the architect.

Strange tower crane application for the assumed parcel of the Chicken Pickle place. 190ft tall crane unless the coordinates are wrong and it's the crane at the Streets of St. Charles. But that crane is nowhere near 190ft in height or near those coordinates.

St. Charles County ends lease of island park amid plans for nearby development
t. Charles County has ended its lease of a forested Missouri River island used as a county park, saying planned construction of a massive mixed-use development nearby will limit public access.
The County Council voted Monday night to terminate its lease of Bangert Island, just south of Interstate 70, from the city of St. Charles, effective Wednesday.
The city will keep the island in its natural state, as required by the family donating it in 1976, and maintain the hiking-biking trails set up by the county during its 16-year stewardship.

Just to the west along the riverfront, the city and CRG, the development arm of the Clayco construction firm, plan the $350 million Riverpointe commercial-residential project.

At least there’s some movement on this. It’s taken a while but should be successful (like the Streets of St. Charles).
