There's a building permit application submitted for $8.5M Construct commercial building per plans at 1 Busch Place. Anyone know what's planned?
That’s the main office building. Probably means a renovation.
If that were the case it'd say "Office Interior renovations per plans" or some such.

At the St. Louis facility, located in the city Soulard’s neighborhood, Anheuser-Busch plans to expand its seltzer brewing capacity and install footings and foundations at a new building on its campus. Anheuser-Busch said the building, located off of Arsenal Street near the brewery entrance, is the first new facility added to its campus since 2006. Additional projects are still in the planning phase and will be unveiled in the next two years, the brewer said.
So that’s the work that they’re doing on Arsenal Street. I saw it just a few minutes ago on my way home.sc4mayor wrote:Anheuser-Busch to make $1B in supply chain investments, work that includes St. Louis

More updates from AB. Some production of Stella Artois will move to the US, including St. Louis.

In addition to the brewery upgrades, Anheuser-Busch will spend $296 million more for the domestic production and distribution of Stella Artois in the United States over the same two-year period. The company did not disclose specific capital investment amounts for the St. Louis brewery nor any impact on jobs here, though Whitworth said "it's pretty significant."

I’m a fan of Stella. Cool that they’ll be making them here now.sc4mayor wrote:More updates from AB. Some production of Stella Artois will move to the US, including St. Louis.

Another big investment by AB in St. Louis. This time a $100 million facility for EverGrain, an AB backed startup. Sounds like they’ll move their US HQ to St. Louis as part of the deal.

is that a rendering of something to be built? that would be pretty awesome. looks like it says "Stock House". maybe not.

I don’t think it’s a rendering of a new building. Looks like a drawing of the one building you see in the first picture of Lyda’s tweet.urban_dilettante wrote:is that a rendering of something to be built? that would be pretty awesome. looks like it says "Stock House". maybe not.

^ yeah i think that's the most likely conclusion.
The facility is being built inside of the existing building shown in the background/renderings.
From STL Today:
"Construction has begun to turn Stockhouse 10, at the southwest corner of Arsenal and Ninth streets, into the new production facility, a project expected to stretch into next year. The historic six-story structure, built in 1905 and adorned with a stone eagle sculpture on the corner, has been used for some storage but largely underutilized for the last 50 or so years, said St. Louis brewery general manager Jim Bicklein."

^ Even better. I’d rather the historic brewery structures come back to life than see what would likely be a pretty basic looking industrial building rise from the ground up.
Great to see them bringing an old, historic part of the complex into the 21st Century. Really, really Good Stuff!
Anheuser-Busch to open new 'regional consumer hub' in St. Louis this summer

Global brewer Anheuser-Busch this summer will open additional offices around the country, including a new “regional consumer hub” at its headquarters in St. Louis. The brewery’s marketing department based out of New York City is opening these hubs throughout the country, starting in St. Louis, officials said in a statement.
The decentralized offices are intended to give A-B’s marketers a “closer understanding of local customers in important markets, while keeping tight virtual connection to teammates in New York,” officials said. The first hub will open at the brewery’s St. Louis headquarters in Soulard, followed by downtown Austin and the Playa District of Los Angeles in the fall and the Wynwood section of Miami in the winter.

Where are A-B's primary breweries outside of St. Louis? Isn't there one in Colorado?
You would think that the big, existing workforce areas of A-B would be getting these hubs and not just random places like Miami, Florida.

These are marketing jobs it seems, so I don't think their existing brewery workforce has much to do with the decision making here. My guess is they can recruit these types of jobs better in Miami than in Jacksonville. Having an office in NYC, LA, Miami, and St. Louis make relative sense to me (at least geographically)...not sure why one is needed in Texas though.
