I'm needing to find some solid Cajun food. I need good gumbo, red beans and rice and some seafood. Recommendations welcome! Anything from hole in the wall to fine dining. Thanks in advance!

Would Broadway Oyster Bar be one? That may be the most famous and is my personal go-to (I like stuff with Crawfish and Shrimp in it).
Sister Cities is solid. And the new back patio is huge and well manicured. And though not 'cajun' I'd recommend Mayo Ketchup. I down their red beans and rice all day. Broadway Oyster Bar is great as well.

BooCoo just opened in Soulard and they have a nice patio. Admittedly haven’t had the food yet though

Best gumbo I've had in STL was at the little stall in the Soulard market where they also make some really good Bloody Mary's, forget the name.

^ Norton’s Cajun Corner (operated by a high school friend and his family, they had a restaurant in soulard too, Norton’s Cafe, which got bought by Molly’s to expand its patio)
That's it, thanks!dbInSouthCity wrote: ↑May 31, 2021^ Norton’s Cajun Corner (operated by a high school friend and his family, they had a restaurant in soulard too, Norton’s Cafe, which got bought by Molly’s to expand its patio)

Evangeline's in the CWE has cajun food and a pleasant atmosphere with frequent live music. Not sure how their food compares to some of the other places mentioned.
They have the best cajun shrimp kabobs I've ever had, absolutely delicious.urban_dilettante wrote: ↑May 31, 2021Evangeline's in the CWE has cajun food and a pleasant atmosphere with frequent live music. Not sure how their food compares to some of the other places mentioned.
Live music and good cocktails too, it's a fun little place.
Yall are awesome! I have a growing list now and we will start trying places this week! I've heard good stuff about Evangelines, and I like that they have regular live Jazz. I might start there. Very much appreciated everyone!

The Red Beans and Rice at Blues City Deli is a must for me anytime I stop by.
