Yeah, a slack channel would be very beneficial. I just created one, and if you would like to be added, please send me a DM.

Giving blanket permission isn't necessarily enough. I've got nearly all of my photos over on Flickr available for free so long as you give me credit already. I think what we need is someone pointing people at important projects. "Hey, can you write me a story on . . . " or "I need photographs of this project for a story yesterday!" Blanket permission to use my stuff is one thing. (And you have it, by the way.) But I could probably shoot more relevant things if I knew what you had in the pipeline in need of art. And I expect the same goes for other shutter clickers as well. And doubtless the same applies to even writers. There are those about that can spin a good yarn, but it does help if folks know what is wanted.quincunx wrote: That's pretty much been the plan for some time now. Mustering the capacity to execute it has been the challenge.
If anyone wants to give blanket permission to repost their development photos that they post in the forum, I'll put them on the nextstl Twitter. (maybe we do that by default by posting them here, idk)
The idea that came up above of some kind of centralized centralized communication channel, a board or thread or small forum of some sort, sounds like a good one.
Just wanted to give a shout out to those of you running/contributing to NextSTL - Nice to have content again

Definitely appreciate that you've kept NextSTL alive, quincunx. Thanks for your continued efforts. Out of curiosity, has anyone heard anything from Alex? I know he has a family and a full time job and a new life in Cincy and everything, but I get the feeling he fully and deliberately severed ties with the STL urbanist community. Just curious.
^I've been curious if he's as active in the Cincy urbanist community as he was here.
I'm sure Alex still checks this website and follows along with what goes on here since this was once his home City. According to his profile, his last post on here was May 23rd, 2017, so it's been a while since he posted but, as I said, I'm sure he checks in every so often.urban_dilettante wrote: ↑Feb 14, 2021Definitely appreciate that you've kept NextSTL alive, quincunx. On another note, I'm happy that NextSTL is back. As someone who has his own blog showcasing new developments, it's nice to have the original back and get some more perspectives on things happening around town. Definitely looking forward to seeing where NextSTL goes from here. The recent stories on what should be, concept renderings, and more are all welcome additions.
