Mods: Can the title of this thread be changed to something along the lines of: The Last Hotel -
International Shoe Co. Building - 1501 Washington
?

A couple renderings from the article:

Two workers died today on the Last Hotel site. Looks like they fell down an elevator shaft. RIP.

I had the oppurtunity to visit this hotel today. It was still really bombed out in the lobby but the guest rooms are coming together quite quickly.

Lobby

Guest Corridors and New Stair Case (Currently Atrium)

Guest Rooms and Views from the Presidential Suite (9th Floor)

The Last is now accepting reservations for July 1st and beyond. A job fair was held the other day at the City Museum, so I assume positions are being filled. The management here see this as been a boost to Washington Avenue.

The glass will soon be placed on top of the awning along Washington.

Construction fence is down. The very non-discreet speakers over the front door have me scratching my head, the front doors also have a bit of a dated design IMO. I was expecting top quality design with this one.

Not open yet.  Next Friday it will be, including the bar that anyone can go to.
They've had it open for private events like the Yelp influencer event  and for their guests

Had lunch here last weekend, place is nice.  Rooftop wasn't technically open but we got a tour and there were people in the pool.

No longer under the Hyatt flag. https://www.hyatt.com/en-US/hotel/misso ... otel/stlub
Is this a good or bad thing for the Last Hotel?  Seems odd they'd lose the Hyatt flag so soon after opening.

They always seem to be doing decent business when I have passed by.  With that being said, I am inclined to think that this move is not positive.  Coupled with Covid straining the hospitality industry as a whole, perhaps Hyatt cut underperforming locations.  Or maybe Hyatt just did not have faith in having a hotel along this stretch of Washington.

It certainly sounds bad. Last I heard (and of course I can't find the article) they are having some money problems. One of their loans got called in and the owner is saying that it's because he voted for Trump 😒
