This project is out to bid with bids due by August 2nd. Construction should be underway by the end of August or early September. All proper things are in place at this point (funding, approvals, and permits being issued). MC Hotel Construction is the contractor, it was originally supposed to be Paric.

Nothing yet. Supposedly they are finalizing agreements with the contractor and subcontractors . We should see some movement here in the next few weeks.

Did I see a construction fence around this site?

Yes. There is a fence up. Although the fence stops at the entrance to the Chase Garage. Maybe they'll expand it to cover that small area where there would be a stairwell.

Demo/Site prep is in full swing for this one. There's a whole lot of machinery on site as well. No pictures, I was in a rush today. I will try to snag a few the next time I am over that way.

Demo looks to be nearly finished and the foundation hole for the hotel is quite deep.   The sun was in a tough spot for the picture,  but getting the 100 in the frame is a must.

Is that Quonset hut thingy staying? Are those still viable TV / Production studios?

That's the Khorassan Ballroom, which is staying.

Current state as of today. Very limited (to no) activity right now. Hopefully we see some foundation work start up here soon.

👏 Great news thanks for the update! This isn't going to be a very visible project but is definitely in the "big city feel" category of development.

I'm most excited about having hotel guests support the restaurants in the area. It seems as though they could use a bit of a boost.

Update from this week. They are digging out the foundation across the entire footprint now. Moving forward as expected.

Been walking by it every few days. Looks like they have to deal with quite a hodgepodge of old foundations.

Drilling foundations. A crane is supposed to be used here.

Construction continues on this project. Foundation work is complete. They're currently building the new access ramp to the Chase garage and are exposing footings in some places. A wall around the site is going up as well. Construction is going slow but that's fine and it makes sense. No rush to open a new hotel since the tourism industry is slow right now.

I assume one will be used because of how the site is. But they could also use a rolling crane if they close York down. I hope they use a tower crane with this one just because it would be nice to have another one up.

Progress as of today. The elevator shaft is on the second floor now, or at least it appears that way. Still no indication that a big yellow crane will be used here. This project has been going slow but there really is no reason to hurry up with it.
