According to the TGNCDC Year End Report, Dave Bailey reached out and said the desire is to start on the project on March 15th. I reached out to Annie Rice and she says they are pushing for a Monday, April 1st start. Either way, it will start this Spring. Looking forward to this project happening.

Here is a rendering, but the design could change to better match the Shaw Historic District's standards.

April has come and gone and I don't think anything has happened here. They did close their pizza location in midtown though. Any news?

Lol Dave Bailey is a poor developer. I have absolutely no confidence he will ever get this done. Frustrating to see it wait with no action, the neighborhood has been more than patient with him.

He also bought 1011 Olive in Downtown in 2014 and touted a BBQ concept he was planning to open there.  Still vacant.

Looks like we should expect to see progress in the coming months!  This is fantastic news:

Anyone hear anything on this?  Was supposed to start in February, but based upon my drive by earlier this evening, zero work has begun.

Also, I did check the building permit history and looks like there was a small electrical permit issues last October, but no other movement.

Drove by the other day and wondered the same thing.

I heard that it was not a priority of his right now from someone who works at a Bailey's restaurant, but that's all I know.

After hitting the panic button on a brunch-focused, oversized South Grand Rooster with another BBQ joint, I'm quite certain this isn't the main priority.

Anyone know how the rest of the restaurant group is doing?

Downtown Rooster is doing very well as is the baileys Burger bar down here

Their other downtown place is the Bridge Tap Bar & Wine House seems fairly busy whenever I go there (once every other month or so)

I haven't been around lately—does this mean the South Grand Rooster is now a BBQ place instead of a crepe place?

The main restaurant is still Rooster. They added the BBQ operation around back.

Yeah.  But Rooster has been basically dead outside of weekend brunches whenever I pass by.  Which is a shame.  The space is great.  Food is pretty good.

Downtown Rooster had been doing pretty well during the week. Not so sure about South Grand

Vacant eyesore getting rehabbed and activated. Investment, jobs, tax base, a neighborhood gathering place. St. Louisan -
Wonder what the apartment neighbors think about having customer-generated patio noise so close to their residence during restaurant operating hours and devouring of available parking on the streets, that’s always been an issue in the neighborhood

Two years later, still glad to see it start. Should be a popular place in the neighborhood.
