I’m sure it can all be found in the court documents. He is worth over 20 million.

Larry Rice, the person, has a net value of over $20 million?  Just making that clear.
Backing off already?

Just about any google search will pull up media articles stating what’s in the court documents about his net worth. Or check them out yourself. Case number 1622-CC10739. It’s well documented.

There's nothing in the case document about Larry Rice's net worth. The word "Rice" doesn't even appear in the document.

Man up or shut up.

Bprop, I not really interested in playing your back and forth game you’re notorious for regarding the NLEC. Now you’ll come back with some bogus argument he doesn’t have access to those funds or they’re the NLEC’s not Rice’s, but everyone knows that’s not the case. It’s also in the depo. Now you can shut up....

“Despite Rice’s never-ending fundraising pitch, NLEC is far from broke. A federal filing a decade ago indicated that the organization had a net worth of more than $40 million.”

Again, you have nothing.  It's not a back and forth game when you pretend to have evidence but then fail to provide so much as a shred.  And "net worth" isn't funds.  But it's clear that you are specifically talking about Rice's own net worth.

He is worth over 20 million.

Pathetic.

My wife and I stayed at the 21C in Bentonville, Arkansas a few years ago. It's a fun place. I think that must be the one new construction, it seemed like a brand new building. There were penguins here and there and they seemed to move around, or be moved around (?).

My daughter, brother, and sister-in-law arrived at the hotel Christmas Day and said Memphis Grizzly players stayed there before a game with the OKC Thunder. I think they like the 14’ ceilings in the OKC hotel.

Creepy.  Ain't no party like an Emperor penguin party...

I stayed at the 21c in Cincy a few years ago. Really nice hotel. I’d highly recommend staying there if visiting the Queen City. It also had at least one roaming penguin. I remember riding the elevator with it at one point.

From outside observations, no. Trash chute is still in place from interior demo but no buck hoist yet. I'm guessing the rather quick groundbreaking of the Hilton Tru at the Shell building hurt 21C's chances here. Not sure which building I prefer though.

They are both great buildings.  Selfishly I would prefer this one since my loft is across the street.  The pool in that Y was a gem.

I guess you also argue another way that the stalled Jeff Arms and Railway Exchange buildings with proposed hotel rooms as part of their mix could help 21C finally moving forward or carry the day for financing.

As a novice I can't really back it up  but agree at some point you can only add so many boutique hotel rooms to the market until CVC breaks ground on convention center expansion.  Construction on MLS stadium moving forward must help but assume convention center business hands down is the biggie

Does anyone know the status of the CVC expansion?  This is critical to the success of DT.

I believe submissions for RFP/RFQ are due tomorrow for CVC. This probably belongs in that thread though.

I agree.  I was just curious.  It plays a major role in supporting DT hotels, retail, and other major entertainment projects.  We need feet on the street.

Personally, I believe the 21c Hotel should be dumped. Put apartments in this building since they are quite popular in Downtown. The parking lot surrounding the building could be developed as well to bring more parking, apartments, and retail space to the neighborhood. IMO, another hotel isn't what we need in Downtown.

Actually I think hotels are very important to downtown, their transient occupants are more likely to support area restaurants and bars on a regular basis than apartment dwellers would. I think it's a similar story with office workers.

Besides, you need hotel capacity to be competitive in the large convention market.

I walked by this place today and the exterior appearance remains unchanged from the street view photos taken in June of last year. Has anyone heard anything lately? This part of town is ripe with old abandoned buildings and I could see it being a vibrant part of town given the right steps are taken. I guess you could say that about anywhere though!
