Why should I shop at Fields? Convince me....
As someone that probably was in top 5 in money spent at downtown west fields from
when it opened to oct 1  (I moved from 1910 Washington to Park Pacific, now go to culinaria during the week, when I actually get groceries I use instacart to get schnucks delivered) I have only one possible reason- their hot lunch/dinner $8.99 plate isn’t bad in cost or quality.  That’s about it

I was going to say. I used to go there for lunch a couple times a week when I worked closer to it. Lunch was pretty good. They usually had a pretty good crowd of people in line for it. I haven't been in a year or two though so it may have changed since then.

When I first started going I really thought the store as a whole was pretty good. Gave me kind of a whole foods vibe (probably overstating it a little) but it has/had? the bar in there and just seemed nicer than other stores. As others have mentioned it went downhill after that. I would get some groceries there just because I was going for lunch and at the time didn't have an easy stop at a store on my route home anywhere (Dogtown) but the prices were high and some food seemed to be expired and or just not that great anymore.

My feeling about it now is, if it is convenient I would be fine going for things I needed that day or the next day. Probably won't be doing a bulk of my weekly shopping there. Not sure how their fresh produce and meat is these days since I haven't been in awhile. Others can probably talk to that.

I don't see it as a place I would avoid but I am not going to go out of my way to go there either. I hope they stick around if only for the reason it gives some people in the city spots to be able to pop in near where they live instead of having to go a long way just for a couple items. Hopefully they can figure out their issues and get back on track.
