Blackline Design and Construction is setting out on a $34 million redevelopment of this building into 146 apartments and 11,150sf of commercial space. The project is currently seeking a rezoning of the property from “K - Unrestricted” to “H - Area Commercial”. Updated December 2nd 2020.
Previous plans, worth $20 Million, called for new windows, a cleaned facade, new roofs and a mixture of uses. Tenants could determine if they want light manufacturing, warehouse or creative office space. A brewery or distillery was also welcome. The one and two-floor portion will be demolished for a parking lot due to it being structurally unstable and collapsing. The hope is that this, 1920 North Broadway (to be renovated to office and warehouse for Greater than Games for $5 Million) and 2000 North Broadway spurs other developments on the North Riverfront. All buildings will receive new windows and are being developed by two different entities.
