That construction at Russell and Longfellow in Compton Heights will likely be under much scrutiny. There are more than a few NIMBYs in these parts.
I'm really interested to see how they're gonna squeeze ten units onto that small lot at 4301 Maryland. And, of course, how the neighbors will react.

My bet is that at least half if not the majority will have access facing Boyle and the "main" front door is on Maryland.

Haven't seen a site plan, but it's usually surprising to see how many they can fit. Great development form for city infill, btw. Reminds me of this townhome project nearby:

By the way - go by 2330 S 12th and check out that renovation - Been past that building a hundred times never realized how cool it was til they started renovation - Hope they can figure out their roof deck and garage

Another huge mixed use building going down on MLK. Wish I had the resources to save some of these. Very depressing seeing an entire commercial corridor fall apart.

^ thanks. yeah, those are nice-looking town homes but the existing shotguns contribute some much-needed variety to the street scape (even more so with some fresh, bright paint). those three have a little bit of a New Orleansy vibe. that's one of the reasons i'm liking UIC's infill in Botanical Heights: color.
Any info on that mixed use in Soulard? That looks very promising to add to Russell.

I agree that I'd like to see that recommendation overturned and the three shotguns replaced. They have a certain charm, but they also look like they could use replacing.
