There's a huge pile of dirt mounding up on North Skinker at Olive. I had assumed that it was from excavation at Wash U, but now it seems they've covered it with straw, as if to grow grass. Does anyone know what's up? Is this pile of dirt here to stay?

If they're going to reuse it as top soil later, then yes, they would want grass and weeds to start growing on it to prevent erosion. We'll surely get quite a few good thunderstorms before this project is over.

My apologies if this has been mentioned already, but WashU is adding aother building to the project scope... per Biz Journal they'll have two engineering buildings instead of one.

Throwing this on here just because. By the way, from the renderings that have been released of Weil Hall so far, nothing too impressive. Just a three story glass box with the lower right corner missing. Hopefully god will be in the details on this one.

I think Weil Hall is going to be awesome. KieranTimberlake is a major, internationally renowned firm. They know details.

WashU is currently building their CRETE house on this site, adjacent to the mound of soil as well. Outer walls and structure are complete. Link to more info.

Kind of a sci-fi look to it. Like a moon base being built, only with more trees in the background.

Let's just hope there were no fatalities. Very sad to see.
