This is officially getting very exciting. According to Emporis, this first phase should be the new tallest in Clayton.

The plaza residences is listed at 409'.
The first phase shows a final height of 419'.

It is not shown on Emporis

^ It's listed under Centene Plaza 2

I posted this back in September. I think a floor was removed since then. It says "not to exceed 420ft"

^ Lots of heavy equipment working at the site daily... primarily site prep work; doesn't look like they've started any foundation work.

So what's going on at the Forsyth & Forest Park Parkway parcel? There's work being done but I thought that was phase 2?

It's staging for the equipment/materials for phase 1. Wouldn't surprise me if they didn't do some basic dirt moving though to have it build ready for phase 2 as well though.

Some drilling for the foundation is underway, and a few concrete trucks have been at the site recently too. All underground work at this point still.

Looks like they have a mock up of the potential glass/exterior of the Phase 1 tower set up on the lawn across the street at the moment too. Nothing too crazy, but cool to get a look at if you're curious.

I've always liked the skin on Centene. It's got a certain ethereal translucence about it. Very subtle.

Looks like they'll be matching it on the next tower.

Ground breaking is today. According to Fox 2, the project is to also include a Civic Auditorium in this Phase. Groundbreaking is at 11;30

Found this today. If this is the case, Centene 2 will be the tallest in Clayton.

Looks like the base elevation is a good bit higher, so even if the roof is higher I wouldn't necessarily take the model to mean it will be taller. All the reports have said it will be second tallest, yes?

NewStl2020 and Moorlander posted earlier on in this thread that it will be 419 feet tall. That's 10ft taller than the Plaza in Clayton, which is already the tallest in Clayton. The wooden block model appears to clarify this. It was taken by a Twitter user the day of the groundbreaking. So I assume it is going to be the tallest in Clayton, Architecturally, Floor wise, not sure.

I assumed the article saying that Phase 2 would include an auditorium was just incorrect. I like that location a lot more though, could be an incredible corner with a rounded glass lobby front. Also, hopefully a redesigned Phase 3 would better cater to the MetroLink station.

This building will be the tallest building built in Missouri this decade. Surprisingly, nearly all recent high-rise proposals and construction has been in Greater St Louis. Kansas City has only seen two high rises built in the last 15 years, being One and Two Light, which are just below standards for being considered an architectural high rise.

Not to get caught up in the whole height fetish, but it kinda makes me wish 100 North Kingshighway was planned to be 420 feet.

Centene is 28 floors, and yet it's taller than BPV (29 floors) and 100 (36 floors). I guess they've got extra space between floors to run lots of cables and services etc.

Centene Tower 3 I believe is submitted to be no less than 435 and no more than 450 feet.
