Interesting development:
The Gaslight Lounge, as the name might suggest, is going to be a bar, as Anderson says, based on drinks “like manhattans served in rocks glasses. Classics. It’ll have a mid-century feel. It’s a little bit of a shout-out to the Gaslight Square district (right), where booze and music held hands.”

But the Gaslight Lounge is going to be far from just a bar. Let’s count the reasons why.

One. It’s going to be homebase to Anderson’s GC2 construction business, with a huge backroom that’ll be home to projects from “fabrication to furniture repair,” or whatever other needs may come his way.

It’s also going to offer the first standing space for the food truck Cha Cha Chow, which Anderson describes as “southwestern style...primarily about tacos and variations of tacos. They’re really known for their spicy southwest burger. It’s finger food: tacos, burgers."...

Nice article from the RFT.com:

Many bars in St. Louis do one thing well — they serve excellent cocktails, or they have really good food, or the music is jumping. Gaslight (4916 Shaw Avenue) aims to do all three. And it's even more than that. The striking new bar on the edge of the city's Hill neighborhood doesn't just include a space for live music performances — the area is also a fully soundproofed studio, with high-end equipment for recording. On one side of the glass, the musicians enjoy perfect acoustics; on the other side, a live audience enjoys cocktails, with music piped in from the adjoining studio at just the right volume.

....The building is located at 4916 Shaw Avenue, just past the construction zone where the Kingshighway Bridge has been shut down.

The part about sawdust and “fabrication to furniture repair” made me assume this was the building on the north side of Shaw across the street where that big wood shop is. There are a lot of hardware and home furnishing places on that stretch of Kingshighway and the short leg of Vandeventer in SW Garden. It's great to be able to play into that little ecosystem while also giving some life to the sidewalks on Shaw.

That said, a music studio and bar seems more appropriate to Grand Center, so there's got to be an O'Connell's angle with the Gaslight Square reference.
