That show on Travel Channel, Man v. Food is on at 9 p.m. tomorrow (Wed. night). Apparently he visits St. Louis. He's going to be taking a challenge to drink malts at Crown Candy Kitchen.

Enjoy.

Hahaha. Owned by Crown Candy Kitchen.

I did appreciate that they seemed pretty positive on St. Louis though. Good episode.

FAIL

Too bad they didn't pan the camera across St. Louis Ave. All in all, very positive show for St. Louis.

I missed the first showing earlier since I was in class tonight, but in true cable fashion, there's a repeat airing at 1:00 a.m, so my DVR is set! 8)

I was glad that he wasn't able to just stroll into town and win the challenge. :)

I like how he specifically mentioned Old North St. Louis. The show made St. Louis look great.

I liked the segment on Pappy's Smokehouse. Made me hungry for BBQ- I may have to head there for lunch tomorrow! (Again)

Pappys may have to expand after the press from this.

I still get a laugh when I travel and see "St. Louis Style" ribs on the menu in some other city. Or when people come here and expect there to be tons of BBQ joints like Kansas City and Memphis.

Good luck. Don't you think they'll be slammed after last night's showing?

I thought it was a very good episode. I have watched others and this won was right up there. I actually learned something too. I didn' know about the milkshake challenge and I go to Crown Candy all of the time. I also didn't know much about Pappy's. Now I am anxious to go there.

Great episode for a solid show, which I proudly admit I watch frequently.

StL provided a number of firsts for the show:

1. Taking an industrial power saw to a pork rack as part of the restaurant's regular cooking process.

2. Having a restaurant naming an item after him, the "Adam Bomb" at Pappy's.

3. Eating so much that he threw up on camera, in front of a crowd, the most spectacular & physically taxing defeat he's had.

4. Visiting a strip club (I think PT's in Sauget) as prep for the eating challenge (needing to "warm up" before the ice cream).

Mostly, it made StL look great, both the city & the citizenry.

Crown Candy told Adam that he's welcome back at any time to rechallenge the malted milkshake contest. Should he ever return, I'd recommend that he takes down a Toby & a Slinger at the Tiffany Diner, go to the Hill for toasted ravioli & pizza cooked with provel, and take the Burger Challenge at Carl's Drive-In in Brentwood.

*Yes, these include County locations in my recommendation.

For all those going to Crown Candy for the first time, may I recommend the Chili and the BLT.

And then come back again to try everything else, because you can't go wrong. All of the various ice cream treats are delicious, and pretty soon you will be able to go across St. Louis Ave. and eat your ice cream dessert on a bench and enjoy the architecture of the newly rebuilt 14th St. Just make sure you give yourself plenty of time to wait if you are going anytime in between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm.

If he would eat with a partner, he could try to Pointersaurus at Pointers. It was featured on 'Best places to pig out' on the Travel Channel.

Me and a friend tried to eat the Pointersaurus once. We failed miserably and I am a big eater. That would be quite a challenge for anyone.

He already did a huge pizza challenge for his Atlanta show.

The key to completing the challenge: choose lean meats such as chicken and turkey.

You know, anyone who makes their living as a professional glutton... yeah, it was bound to happen. I just laughed.

The only reason I watched the episode was to see how St Louis eating establishments were portrayed. But I can't imagine being entertained on a regular basis by watching someone who shamelessly stuffs their face with huge portions of food.

I was most amused by the blurring of all visible product logos. I wonder -- if he had stood outside the new stadium, would they have blurred out "Busch"?

When I tried to conquer the Pointersaurus, the issue was the cheese. It was so think and slightly uncooked in the middle. The outer pieces were okay, it was the middle the that was insurmountable.

Show's on tonight at 9. From the ad, it looks like he's there for their burger made with Krispy Kremes for buns.

I'm finding more and more that I'd rather eat the Bizarre Foods stuff than Man vs. Food. Love the show, though.
