^ I'm really stoked about this project. On top of what Alex already reported (taco joint, clothing business, residential) a bakery/cafe is going to replace the UIC office at the anchor corner. Pretty awesome!
(I'd agree that this is more properly South Saint Louis than Central Corridor as its not yet FPSE, but it is on the cusp.)
Not sure where to properly put this because the address sound funky, but Saint Louis Business Journal is reporting that an IT firm is moving from the County to a historic building co-owned with UIC in the neighborhood and within the Liggett-Myers National Historic District. The address it gives however is 222 Vandeventer, which would actually be across from the IKEA and where Midtown Station would be.... I suspect the address is wrong.
I can say for certain though that Tower Grove Mews is moving full steam ahead and is looking great and that I wouldn't doubt there will be substantially more investment in the area. It would be awesome to see some of the old Liggett complex turned into an ultra-awesome mixed-use project.
^ The corrected address for the IT company is 1520 Vandeventer, so this is around the corner from Tower Grove Mews, between Tower Grove Ave and I-44. Great news and awesome to see more jobs coming to the Greater Vandergrove area. I really hope that Vandeventer gets hot all the way from I-44 to IKEA... there are some pretty cool historic buildings between TG and Manchester that hopefully will get some love and help the Grove maximize its potential.
Looks like the first of the Tower Grove Mews businesses is up and running.... slamagency. Countdown continues for the artisanal bakery, taco joint, chicken joint, apartments and clothing business. Can't wait!
