These buildings look like they were built to last 20 years. sorry. I expect MLP's to be even MORE "big boxish" according to people "in the know".. sad. too bad RH couldn't have built better quality structures, and built off the success of Clayton. oh well...

Definitely a dinky little building, but at least there is some office development activity in Mid County.

Drive by and wonder if anybody could pull off a new development between this project and the new Hanley Station. Replace Home Depot with an urban store, underground parking and add to the street and pedestrian grid that favors the metro station. A lot of more residential, office space and retail could fill this area that would offer a big improvement in my mind. Maybe save some houses being taken down across Hanlely in favor of another box store and parking lot too boot!

Weird, I drove by on that earlier today and was thinking about how in XX years, the area of maplewood commons (walmart/lowes/sams) could be recreated into a sort of southern Clayton. Create a street grid and sell off plots to different towers... my daydream included only 1-2 towers and the rest 4 story retail, condos, row houses, townhomes... I mean sh*t, metrolink is right there...

I remember a few weeks ago I was heading east on 40 at night and saw what appeared to be a tall, well-lit building. At first I wondered what could possibly be lighting up the skyline so bright and then as I got closer I realized it was a friggin' parking garage.

Why on earth is it necessary for that garage to be so obnoxiously "well lit" ? It looks like a damned nuclear plant generating full bore ! Talk about light pollution and waste of energy. It blazes across the entire mid-county area, even at 3:00 O'clock in the morning. Flying into STL you can see it glaring from miles out ! Did MoDot design and construct it ?

I like the well lit up parking garage. It adds life to the skyline in that area and of course well lit parking garages are generally much less inviting to criminals than ones that aren't.

I've been wondering the same thing for weeks. Also, weren't there plans for a hotel across Hanley in the vacant lot west of the community center/library/mulch pile? And will the mound of dirt remain as is when the project is complete?

According to the Business Journal, Missouri College has leased the smaller building and BJC HealthCare is looking to lease at least a portion of the larger building. There will be groundfloor retail as well.

I noticed that the Mo College signage is now up on the smaller building.

ricke002, Across the street is the Hadley Township development. I believe their is a thread on it. Last I read was that Richmond Heights and the developer hammered out a new agreement after a court case was settled. I think the developer has til the end of August to fullfill sales contracts with current owners or its over.

I just saw on the Five Guys Burgers and Fries website that they'll be opening a location at the Meridian at Brentwood. I'm not sure when it's suppose to open, though. They just opened a new location this last week in Ellisville in front of the new Straub's.

I agree. I just came across the one at Clayton Rd. and Clarkson Rd. today and decided to check it out. I hadn't been to one before. It was really busy for only being open since Monday.
