Renovation of a building to house a new theater that is expected to open in Sept.

The theater and adjoining facilities will take about 7,500 square feet of the low, brick, 30,000-square-foot building at 3310 Samuel Shepard Drive.

The building is being remodeled on the inside and dressed up on the outside. Besides the black box theater, it will have room for rehearsal space, studios, offices for nonprofit organizations and a “luxury warehouse” business.

^ That's pretty cool for them to get a new home and be able to expand their productions. As this is just around the corner from UCBC, it also stretches out the arts venues further (and hopefully helps make the area more attractive and lead to a bit more infill within the gaps).

However, looking at google streetview, it also appears that there was a functioning light industrial business here at least very recently that is either closing or moving somewhere else. I always wonder where these much-needed jobs wind up.
