One lane of northbound Kirkwood Road is closed for the duration of construction. A pedestrian pathway was created there. BSI is the contractor. Temporary UMB bank location opened up about a block away. 

These renderings are from last fall. ESG Architects of Minneapolis is the new architect. 

Will a new UMB occupy the 1st level of the apartment complex? Or move elsewhere?

Gadfly is advocating for Global Foods and Walgreens across the street to do something similar. Sell to an apartment developer and then occupy the first level retail in new digs - similar to Whole Foods in CWE.

UMB will occupy the first floor next to the gas station (so the southern retail space).

I wouldn’t mind if something similar took place across the street. That side of the street would be greatly improved if that parking lot on Washington was dealt with and Global Foods was rebuilt into a new structure. So much opportunity on this end.

I imagine OSHA has some sort of rule regarding this one, but I'd bet yes.

Completed. One of the retail spaces currently has construction going on for the new UMB Bank branch. I'm still salty that the portion that bordered the eastern side of the gas station wasn't built, but the overall product turned out nice. People on my CityScene Twitter are showing their hate for this project calling it "brutalism" and "prison-like". In my opinion, this area could use many more of these buildings.
