At this point just assume it will never reopen.chris fuller wrote: ↑May 08, 2025cant find plumbers?

Personally I am fine with allowing US Bank to suffer if it means this project gets built.Jallen26 wrote: ↑Jun 17, 2025Word on the street is that this is seriously progressing. Thompson Coburn is rumored to be the anchor tenant for the 11 story office building, potentially filling the whole building.
While this would be great for kickstarting the project. It is once again just “musical chairs” as the occupancy at US Bank would suffer greatly.
Additionally, I think US Bank Plaza is undergoing some type of building upgrade to attract tenants. I also thought someone on here had said they were looking into adding a hotel in the building? Is that something they've actually looked into?
The brokers are advertising a significant amenity package and ownership recently filed a permit. Since TC occupies the top floors which are the most desirable, they should see good traction if the amenity lounge is complete to the level of finish that was in the renderings.Auggie wrote: ↑Jun 17, 2025Personally I am fine with allowing US Bank to suffer if it means this project gets built.Jallen26 wrote: ↑Jun 17, 2025Word on the street is that this is seriously progressing. I have heard nothing of a hotel. Most owners do not want to mix multi-family/hotel with office because there is such a limited buyer pool when you go to dispose of the asset.
If Cordish doesn't go for a hotel at this site. I wonder if that increases the chances of another hotel as part of BPV phase 3.Jallen26 wrote: ↑Jun 17, 2025The brokers are advertising a significant amenity package and ownership recently filed a permit. Hopefully the new amenities will be enough to lure a major tenant from outside the city.Jallen26 wrote: ↑Jun 17, 2025The brokers are advertising a significant amenity package and ownership recently filed a permit. Would like to see a JW Mariott or something like that. I was in Milwaukee Sunday for the Cards/Brewers game and met a guy who said he comes to STL every other year for a series and he stays at the Live! hotel. He had a glowing opinion of BPV.goat314 wrote: ↑Jun 17, 2025If Cordish doesn't go for a hotel at this site. I would kill for a JW Marriott downtown. Loved staying at the one in NO.

A shiny JW Tower has been on my personal wish list for a while now. Seems like one of those hotels I see in major or "it" cities
While I was the one who threw out the JW idea, it's worth mentioning that the Mariott STL Grand is considered a 4-star hotel, which is the same as JWs.
We also have a Ritz Carlton AND a Four Seasons: which is not normal for a mid sized market.GoHarvOrGoHome wrote: ↑Jun 17, 2025A shiny JW Tower has been on my personal wish list for a while now. Seems like one of those hotels I see in major or "it" cities
New Orleans is it's own beast when it comes to hotels. Indianapolis has a JW: but that's because they didn't have a modern luxury hotel and the Indy 500 people pushed for it.
I don't think we need a big skyline tower like Indy's. I wouldn't mind a mid sized JW like what Clearwater Beach or The Mall of America have.

US Bank sold the building, I thought it was to Thompson Coburn but perhaps not. US Bank I think uses only floors 5-12? Google search says it was a venture between MAP Property Holdings and Crescent Investment Group. So, I guess with them working on it, a Thompson Coburn move should not hurt the tower.

Correct, its much easier to fill space once its there rather than construct a new building outright.Auggie wrote: ↑Jun 17, 2025Personally I am fine with allowing US Bank to suffer if it means this project gets built.Jallen26 wrote: ↑Jun 17, 2025Word on the street is that this is seriously progressing. I actually think this is a negative. When they lose a flag it typically means local management isn't up to snuff.
With another few in receivership / auction not great. Really big conventions say we lack hotel rooms but not so sure with current landscape.

I agree, tends to not be a good sign. Hopefully another Holiday Inn pops up downtown in the future.TheWayoftheArch_V2.0 wrote: ↑Jul 16, 2025I actually think this is a negative. When they lose a flag it typically means local management isn't up to snuff.
