Hi! I’m relatively new to St. Louis and come from a city where I did a lot of urban walking and biking.

I’ve heard a lot about greenway trails around Tower Grove Park and Midtown and such, but having a difficult time finding out exactly which trails/paths/bike lanes are currently implemented are. I see a lot of resources about the various projects and plans but I would like to know exactly what exists so I can plan some bike routes.

Does anyone know a good source for this? Thank you!

So what I'm seeing as far as urban biking between the Mississippi and the River Des Peres on the Greenway is about half a mile or so between Compton & Market and Jefferson & Market, and two mile-long or so branches heading north from Forest Park.

Are any of the planned areas bikeable in their current state?

I bike around the Arch, through the city to Forrest Park and can get 23 miles in most of on trails.  I have also biked up the Mississippi River (not all the way) and got close to 20 in.   I also enjoy Tower Grove Park and the connector.

There's plenty of sidestreets that are more than bikeable. Years ago in high school I took a biking class for PE credits and the teacher took us all over STL, mostly on side streets.

I’m fine with biking through side streets. I’m guessing staying off the main roads is kind of advised around here? Kingshighway, etc.

Definitely avoid any street without bike lanes at the very minimum.
