I remember reading from way back in the forums early days when someone used that argument against opening forum sections for the suburbs, the response from a mod was that opening such a section is justified in that St. Louis proper is about 360,000 people while the metropolitan area is 2.5 million.

That's probably true, and I wasn't trying to be mean or anything, you know? The bias here, from my perspective, wasn't against suburbs, so much as it was against typical suburban culture and development. Many St. Louis suburbs have urban areas, and this certainly includes the Illinois suburbs. There is a bias here, as far as "urbanity" goes, and I think it should be expected. Again, it’s not that people dislike all suburbs, otherwise they would hate U-City, and that’s certainly not true.
