^ I’d be willing to be there are some incentives involved in Cincinnati. St. Louis used to pull in big productions quite regularly until the state of Missouri ended the film tax credit program. Resurrecting that program would go a long way towards getting St. Louis back on the map for film production. I’m not so sure the city could (or should) cobble the money together to incentivize that on its own.
I hear there's gonna be some reality-TV show featuring the Busch family on MTV

I gotta side with the hillbilly legislature on this. Why should Missourians subsidize the production of Movies and TV shows that all too often just want to deride the state as being redneck or post-apocalyptic? Hell, I don't even think Ozark would be actually be filmed at Lake of the Ozarks even with subsidies because LOTO has way too much money and real stuff going on to fit the setting that the show producers want to see which is a has been redneck vacation community.sc4mayor wrote: ↑Oct 12, 2019^ I’d be willing to be there are some incentives involved in Cincinnati. Not sure where to put this, so...
Here's a quick, nifty little video about the history of Tower Grove South.

"Food is Love", a well-produced local food and foreign-culture series premiers on KETC July 13th, The first episode centers on Munsok So, owner of Drunkin Fish and The Kimchi Guys on the Landing.
"Danish American chef Lasse Sorensen will host a new series on Nine PBS, premiering next month, which explores the diversity of the St. Louis food scene by following the roots of its cultural influences. In each new episode, Sorensen (an immigrant to the U.S. himself) spends time in the kitchens of some of the city’s most celebrated restaurants, learning more about the people behind the food. “Food is what connects us all together,” he says, “no matter where we come from.”
Good stuff:

^ Looks good to me. Thanks for the heads up...I probably would have missed this one. Sounds like there will be 13 episodes...wonder where else he will go?
Last night's episode was fun. Lots of great shots of Laclede's Landing (and lots of optimism for it's future growth). The best part was when they visited Munsok So's parent's house for a real Korean meal (with lots of veggies grown in their backyard).
Is American Ninja Warrior now taping at the dome? There were several vans with show placards on the north loading dock yesterday. I see it was originally schedule for earlier this year.

As I recall I first saw that here several years ago. I can only conclude another of the Facebook St. Louis history folks also follows this page, Reddit, or both. Because let's be honest, nothing makes it to Facebook first.
(In spite of which I'm glad to follow the Facebook page. They do have many good pictures.)
The Hill documentary is making some fans around the country:

You can probably pick up a DVD at Digregorio's or something, also.

Did anything ever happen with the two historic Busch series that were reported in late 2019? Are those moving forward?

Good stuff. Not just on St. Louis, but the other cities to be featured as well. I'm already ready for Season 2 (I cheated a little).
They show them making them in the episode.bwcrow1s wrote: ↑Jun 18, 2021Zia's t-ravs probably come out of a bag, don't they?
