The restaurant is closing, but the space is going to be used for private events going forward.

Cripes. Love that place. I've often discussed this with family, but I think Watson from Hampton to Chippewa may be one of the coolest stretches of restaurant varieties in town and is highly reflective of the diverse South City Vibes. Off the top of my head:

Chris' Pancake House, Adam's Smokehouse, El Piasano, LoRusso's, Biggie's, Stellina, Trattoria Marcella, Pint Size, Peitro's...

Great mix of informal, upper scale, breakfast, coffee, lunch, and dinner options. A bonus that is weaves right through such a dense residential area.

^^ Pint Size will be staying on Watson but just announced it will be moving this Spring into a larger space -- I believe the former vacuum cleaner shop by LaRusso's.

There's also what used to be Winehaus (don't remember what it's called now) and the dive bar next to Adam's. (And Donut Drive In and Gooey Louie are just barely off of Watson on Chippewa.

Bum deal - Really enjoyed Stellina, But did notice the wait times were not what they use to be. Got in pretty easy on a Saturday night a few weeks ago where that use to be a 30 min minimum wait on weekends.

But it is interesting that he is not selling the building, hopefully that agnolotti pasta will return again in a different place.

Couldn't agree more! I've been saying for years that this stretch of Watson is the most underrated stretch of restaurants in St. Louis. Sad news indeed. Stellina was one of my favorite restaurants in St. Louis. I never had a bad meal there.
